Remember when there were like two vegan cheeses? And they both sucked and didn't melt? I can't even keep up with all the options now!

Yeah, I feel kinda the same. Also, a Havarti not forked up with hot peppers would be nice.

Don't you dare touch my havarti. It is perfect and will go on everything from now on.

Dammit, Daiya. Come to Europe! I'll happily pay exorbitant import prices just to have the occasional vegan junk food meal.

Yes! I'm quite jealous (although Sheese is pretty damn good in a toasted sandwich!)

The chances of my stores getting these are slim (though we have "veggie slices" so MAYBE?!?!?) but... OMG, provolone.

I used to eat such quantities of cheese. Just sit and eat it. This is going to happen again. I am going to balloon up to enormity and I DON'T CARE.

Some dude at the health food store told me about these and my first reply (after 'oh shiitake yeahz') was, "Wait, is swiss the cheese that tastes like smelly socks, or the one that tastes like baby vomit?"

Swiss was never my favorite so I don't really remember what it tastes like.

I think of the pre-Daiya days as kind of the dark ages of vegan cheese. F'n Follow Your Heart..."It melts" That's bull shiitake and tastes like it, too. The Monterrey Jack is OK, but the mozz is awful.

The Monterey Jack is great though! FYH is so underrated.

All you Europeans, I will just say for the millionth time, you have Cheezly and believe me it's better than Daiya.

I've tried them both, and I would beg to differ. Ahhh, the grass is always greener, eh?

I love FYH Jack. It remains as the only vegan cheese I will eat plain.

Didn't a couple of PPKers once do a trans-atlantic cheese exchange? Does anyone know how the cheeses fared in transit?

I've gotten Cheezly several times and it worked out just fine! I haven't sent daiya to anyone, but I think it would be fine too.
I have both in my fridge right now, actually. And they're both good for different things. Daiya is best for meltiness, but I do not like it cold and unmelted. Cheezly has a better overall flavor and tastes great cold on crackers.

Different vegans like different cheeses. Arguing over which one is the best will only tear us apart!

But we can agree that Cheezly is better, right?

We should do a big cross-continental meet up somewhere with a giant blind taste test! We could make sure all the cheeses are represented and test them in various forms - on crackers, melted on pizza, in grilled cheese! How fun would that be?

(I once attended an international (non-PPK) meet up with a group of online friends where the ostensible "reason" for meeting was to do a big "Twizzler vs. Red Vines" taste test. That was a blast!)

I'm so game for a blind taste test. Someone needs to hook it up with the Vegusto, though. I need to get my hands on that. Never tried Cheezly. Or Sheese. I've only once tried Teese and didn't care for it. If only I didn't have to pay for those damn cold-shipping packs I would have tried a lot more vegan cheese by now.

ETA: So, now can we no longer get Cheezly, but we can't get Sheese in the US anymore? Was just on Pangea and they said it was no longer being imported to the states...
