Do you combine cereals? I have been in a cereal as snack mood for a few weeks now...Currently I like 2 parts pb Puffins with 1 part chocolate Koala Crisps...Vanilla almond milk (unsweetened) is my vessel of choice!
How about you?

I have a bowl of cereal every morning. It's probably one of my favorite parts of the day. I always mix cereals--I never have just one kind of cereal! Right now it's Life cereal mixed with Kashi Cinnamon Crisp (not the Crunch kind). I usually like to do a mix of lighter cereals (like rice squares or something) and mix it with something heavier (crunchier, lots of fiber/protein). And I alternate between different soymilks, usually silk vanilla or unsweetened. And then frozen blueberries on top! Always. I have my cereal down to an art form.

I have never, ever, ever combined cereals, and I had no idea other people did! For some reason the idea makes me feel... uncomfortable?

Puffed rice is good for bulking up a bowl of high calorie cereal. Sometimes I do that.

Mixed cereals are THE best. Mine is weetabix with puffed rice or cornflakes. Frosties is good with weetabix too. Usually weetabix tends to be my base cereal then a bit of whatever else is around. Sometimes I throw in a bit of cocoa powder too. Usually when I mix cereals it is in the evening time as a snack.

But using puffed rice to bulk up another cereal is a really good idea.

I love this thread! I take my cereal mixing quite seriously. Lately I've been combininig Bob's Red Mill Muesli with Nature's Path Bran Flakes and then a third cereal that alternates. Something a little sweeter than the other two, for balance. I like the Peace brand of cereals, but you don't get much bang for your buck.

I have a big tub that I pour all my cereal boxes in to combine them. Cereal suicide!

I only do it bowl by bowl, because I think my boyfriend is in the purist camp.
I know I have seen (on TV) restaurants that you can go and buy a carton and combine cereals! I am thinking that this might be a cool idea for a film night that the boyfriend hosts. I would set up a cereal station with choices of soy or almond milk!

I oppose the mixing of cereals. It is immoral, and a sign of cultural decay.
One flavor sensation at a time!

I bet the people who hate cereal mixing also hate oreos. Strange people.

I'm a cereal mixer, too! Well, usually cereal with granola on top. My husband got me hooked on that. I'm going to use the puffed rice filler idea.

My kids used to take the little bits left in the bottom of cereal bags and mix them (maybe they still do). I had never even thought of doing that though I am not appalled by it. They had a name for the resultant cereal that escapes me now.

Mixed cereal is such a texture party. I like pb puffins or pb rounds with granola or muesli. I also really like oatmeal with a layer of cereal on top, topped with almond milk. And then there's cereal on ice cream...

I forgot to mention that my favourite combo right now is organic raisin bran and some PB granola on top, with plenty of soy milk.

I don't mix cereals, because they don't get soggy at the same rate, and I don't want a nice crunchy mouthful of cereal to be marred by a soggy puffed rice kernel. However, I'm not opposed to anyone else mixin' it up. Usually though, I just top my cereal with other stuff. Bananas, strawberries, hemp seeds, raisins. Whatever sounds good.

Back in the non vegan/GMO lovin days it was corn flakes&honey nut Cheerios&cap'n crunch. My GI Tracy is getting inflamed just thinking about it. I'm obsessed with those kamuy puffs they sell in bags at whole foods and now those go in with all other cereals.

I feel the same way about the soggy issue. I hate when one kind is still crunchy while one kind is soggy. I HATE soggy cereal. I usually have some kind of granola and I top it with a sliced banana, frozen blueberries, raisons, milled flax seed, hemp seeds and unsweetened almond milk. Other people who simply have cereal and milk laugh at my concauction!

I had never thought to do it before seeing this episode, and then I realized how simple yet ingenious it is. I'm in the same boat with most of y'all about mixing heavier/ more sugary cereals (granola, Puffins, whatever) with lighter/ blander stuff like corn flakes or Rice Krispy-type cereal. Variation in flavor/ texture is a must. Unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze is my milk of choice. If I have fresh fruit on hand, banana slices and/or berries are a lovely addition.
