I remember when I was in college I used to buy some mainstream ranch dressing that was accidentally vegan. I went to the store this morning and couldn't find it, I can't remember the brand. This morning I looked at Kraft, Wishbone, Stop and Shop, and Ken's and none were vegan. Maybe the formulas change per region or something? I def am not imagining this because I remember grocery shopping out of town on my way home from a cross race (I love different grocery stores) and picking some up and that was pretty recent - like December 2012. Help a fellow out?

I ended up getting Organicville ranch and it's not good! Not tangy enough and the consistency is too thin.

I swear the Hidden Valley Ranch was vegan for a few years way back when, too! I think it's Simply Organic that makes a dill dip or whatnot that tastes pretty ranchy...

Hidden Valley Ranch did have a vegan packet to make it yourself ages ago. I was so sad when they changed that.

They still sell the packets- was it a certain one?

Sorry this is not helpful, but I concur that the Organicville ranch is awful!

Organicville is kind of bad. Watery, too! You gotta get your hands on that FYH ranch. SO good!

I've never found a bottled one I liked. I just make Sanctuary dressing and bottle the hell outta it

The Simply Natural Goddess dressing is the closest thing I've tasted to a vegan ranch. It's a Annie's copycat, but is thicker. I think it might only be available in Canada though?

Oh yeah, the Annie's Goddess dressing is good. Not exactly ranch, but works in ranch-type situations. The only weird thing is that Annie's makes more than one variety of Goddess dressing and I think one of them isn't vegan? Confusing...

Unfortunately, the store brands that I've seen have copied the non-vegan one so yay for buying the most expensive one. I just buy Drew's because it's cheaper.

I buy the penzeys ranch mix and mix it with vegenaise and soymilk and silken tofu and I think it's pretty good.
