Miracle Whip seems to be one of those polarizing foods. either you love it or you hate it.

i personally think it's a disgusting abomination and we didnt need a vegan version but for anyone who likes it looks like Nasoya made a vegan version. maybe this is why i dont like the regular Nasoya mayo....

I think it's cool, I was one of the few people who used mayo or Miracle Whip with no preference. I'd try it.

I never liked either miracle whip or mayo so I don't quite understand the difference :) If a recipe calls for it, I'd use whatever vegan form I can find, nasayo, veganaise, etc, it all tastes pretty much the same to me.

i could eat veganaise with a spoon.

nasoya regular mayo ive dumped out after having it for so long and not wanting to eat it cause i dont like it.

veganaise......YUM!

my mom always used Miracle Whip when i was growing up. it has kind of a weird sweetness to it if my memory serves me correctly? i always thought that's what mayo tasted like til one day i tasted real mayo. then my whole world exploded.

it's not even like im a huge mayo fan, i just hate miracle whip

We rarely had mayo when I was young and never bought it for myself as an adult, I think I usually had mayo at my grandma's house though. I do remember friends having miracle whip and it being slightly sweet.

Yeah, miracle whip is sweeter and has a bit of a tangy taste. I was never a huge eater of either one, my lunch meat sammiches always had mustard and tuna salad I didn't develop a taste for until I got older. I also never ate potato or pasta salad with mayo dressings. But when I did eat them I couldn't have cared less which one I had.

I was raised on Miracle Whip, and eventually I switched to regular mayo so I can tell you that Nasoya is/was gross no matter which you prefer. I remember getting a jar of that when I was not yet vegan and giving it away. Hopefully they've reformulated, if the whipped one tastes like Miracle Whip i'll give it a try.

Miracle Whip is lighter and sweeter than mayo, so if you're used to one the other is a little bit of a shock since you'd think that Miracle Whip is just a name brand and not something that's pretty different.

P.S. I love mayo and mayo like products. I want a sandwich and some pasta salad.

I could not agree with you more. The only miraculous thing about Miracle Whip is that people eat that shiitake.
I would rather eat 'Kitty Roca'. :o

Yes, this. ^ I think we may have had the same mom. After having my first rogue taste of Hellman's I never looked back.

i have yet to try veganaise but i did receive samples of of nasoya's three new mayos.

i don't know which kind of mayo my mom bought growing up but my hubby prefers duke's brand mayonaise (it's most likely a southern regional thing) i think that may be what his mom bought when he was growing up too. i don't recall using lots of mayo growing up unless it was on a turkey sandwich or in potato salad.

i liked both the nayonaise and the whipped, i liked the sweet tangy taste. did not like the low fat one, the taste and texture was a bit off compared to the other 2. (now i'm intrigued about the other brand since i assume veganaisse does not have a sweet tangy taste)

the vegan mayo it's nothing that i would buy regularly, but since they were sent as samples i had no problem using them especially since the "deviled no-egg salad" from vegan sandwiches save the day does call for a little bit of mayo in the recipe. it was nice having the jarred stuff on hand without having to go out and buy some silken tofu to make my own.

I believe that Nasoya did reformulate their regular nayonaise recently: http://www.nasoya.com/products/original ... naise.html

Gee, I hope so. My mom used to buy that Nasoya mayo and it was Nast-oya.

Vegenaise, O Wondrous Spread!

No, it's not sweet or tangy. It's a good enough approximation of Hellman's or Kraft, that if I were eating it on a sammich, I wouldn't know the difference. I'm also new enough at this vegan thang that I think I still have omni taste buds. So, I'm very impressed with its creamy yumminess. I am a mayophile, if you can't tell.

Veganaise's color freaks me out. The last one I bought a while ago was from Trader Joe's. Normal, non-freaky color. It is a large jar though so I only used 1/3rd of it before I threw it out.

veganaise to me tastes pretty damn close to real mayo but maybe better.

like with regular mayo i never felt the urge to eat it with a spoon or slap it on stuff other than a sammich but with veganaise i want to use it as a sauce.

that cant be healthy :-P

i always thought nayonaise tasted like miracle whip. (although i'm a hater, so it might have been a different situation for those who enjoyed miracle whip)

We are not a mayo or miracle whip family, and I never really liked either. I hate hate hate nasoya and much prefer vegenaise when I need to make a mayo-y pasta salad or some such. Sometimes I buy nasoya in a pinch because it's at the grocery store and I have to drive 25 minutes to buy vegenaise, and it's always such a bad idea and waste of money because I just let it sit in my fridge forever. Blarf.

i suppose i just really like nayonaisse because i haven't had any other vegan mayo yet. not sure when i'll try veganaise, it's pricey and not something i use regularly. we'll see.

same reason why i used to love nasoya tofu, brainwashing, that nasoya tofu is everywhere in all stores, until i tried a way better brand and my hubby (an omni) loved it so much he was eating it out of the pan as it cooked!

jeebus, the vegan mayo here is definitely of the miracle whip persuasion. enough to make me stop eating mayo altogether.

Hello. Long-time lurker, first-time poster. The thread title made me think of the following, which always makes me laugh for about five straight minutes (probably NSFW):

Miracle Whip is mayo?! I always assumed it was cream. It should be a brand of cream. Whit.
