folks,
can you recommend a coffee creamer (powder) that works well?
Something that i can take with me (so not a liquid).

i thought coconut milk powder would be it, but it doesn't seem to work that way...at least the coffee doesn't change color...

thanks!

I bought this powdered soy milk -> http://www.amazon.com/Better-Than-Milk- ... 115&sr=1-4 in the hopes that my partner could carry it around with him as coffee creamer. Unfortunately, when you put a teaspoon in coffee it clumps up and he wasn't into it.

At work he keeps a ziploc bag of the powder and a jar to mix small amounts with water (how I imagine you do baby formula?). We do the same when traveling.

It does change the color, but doesn't work exactly like coffeemate. The soy milk from powder is not bad either, I make a pitcher of it if we are out of our usual cartons.

Interested to see if anyone else has had any luck!

i have not found one that works. i've started drinking coffee black, and i always drank my tea black anyway.

i usually use powdered soymilk for most applications-- it's good for most things but it doesn't work well for coffee. i do get powdered coconut milk once in a while and tried that once, it was still not right.

This is the only vegan coffee creamer I've ever heard of:

http://www.veganstore.com/product/soygo ... ternatives

I've never used it (I just put whatever almond/coconut/hemp I have in coffee) but it seems like I remember other PPKers saying it wasn't bad.

Yes, SoyGo is pretty good. (They recently reformulated for anyone who hasn't tried it in a few years.) You do end up with a bit of a sludge at the bottom of the cup, but that's kind of typical for coffee creamers.

I found some random kosher brand of creamer that is a powder and appears to be vegan. https://www.aviglatt.com/Savion-Non-Dai ... 7-oz/9520/

oh, that's good. it was pretty bad when we first tried it. (i think it was 2009?) it seemed like it was just essentially superfine soy flour. :-/

Man if a nondairy milk really wanted to corner a market - we desperately need individual packets of shelf stable creamer.

I know its kind of gross, but some coffeemate is actually vegan. Its mostly made out of oil, but if you're in a bind and can't stand your coffee black you can use it... and its powdered. Still not preferred at all but I've used it before camping.

I stand corrected. I just looked it up, I haven't used it in over a year and when I did use it last, I just remember seeing the "non dairy" label (i'm lactose intolerant). Thanks for pointing that out!

What about the Taam-Tov one? http://www.veganstore.com/product/404/v ... ternatives
I'm not a coffee drinker, but Taam-Tov translates to "good taste", so it had better taste good!

I've considered that one before, but I think the portability of individual packets is important.

a 100 pack of dimebags is usually only about $2. you can always make your own individual packets, and that way the packaging is reusable.

and then you can have the amusing conversation of "no officer, i swear, it's just coffee creamer!"
