 Post subject: Frozen asparagus (no filter)

I got a bag of frozen asparagus (which I can't help but un-filter, even though I actually AM talking about the vegetable) from Trader Joe's a while back, but I realize I have no idea what to do with it. I've never used anything other than fresh. Since I'm moving soon, it's time to address the unused frozen goods.

So, PPK, what should I do with the asparagus?

I've used frozen asparagus for the jerk asparagus recipe in AFR to great success! I also just toss it it in with other veggies when I'm cooking bowl-food. (almost always)

Let me know what you do, I'm always looking for more ideas.

maybe the potato-asparagus soup from VWAV? i've never used (or even heard of) asparagus sold as a frozen vegetable, but i'd assume it's best used in recipes where its texture isn't emphasized.

I think frozen asparagus is kind of gross, so I'd use it to make Isa pizza from VWaV. Texture wouldn't matter there, and that green garden purée is fabulous and amazing and worth the forkton of dirty dishes and effort.

If you don't have asparagus hang-ups, the Portland porch lettuce wraps from the PPK blog are also wonderful. Yum!

Hey, frozen is better than the canned asparagus my mom used to use. Just throw it in a kitchen sink stir fry.
