I'm helping Laziest Vegans make a list, but I'm looking for things that are actually healthy. Or, at least, not terrible for you. Items like canned soups, flavoring packets, frozen foods and even crackers. What are some healthy items you can find at regular supermarkets (not Trader Joes, Whole Foods or health food stores.)

Some of the packaged Target food is vegan. I will come back and post when I remember the specific names of products but I remember I was reading the ingredients on their mushroom bowl thing and it specified that an ingredient was vegan right on the packaging. I thought that was cool! No guessing games!

I like those Thai Kitchen rice noodle soups. They're really good when fancied up with some sort of green vegetable and tofu.

hopefully this link works correctly- it should be a list of wegmans product separated by the Vegan Wellness key. Wegmans actually labels all vegan items right on the front of the packaging.

I've seen the vegan Go Picnic packs at Target and Walmart. They're perfect for plane trips.

This isn't really a meal, but Bird's Eye frozen winter squash puree has always been a healthy comfort food for me.

The new dole banana dippers (dark chocolate covered banana slices) look to be vegan.

Lots of Annie Chun's stuff is vegan and just needs a healthy squirt of sriracha to be palatable. Instant miso soups are almost always vegan around these parts but I don't remember the brands you have in the US.

In Canada one of our drugstores (Shoppers Drug Mart) has a signature organic brand called Nativa that carries everything from less healthy (chocolate almonds, popcorn), to healthy healthy (canned soups, cereals, crackers, nut butters, sauces) and a majority of the stuff is vegan. It's actually really cheap too. Not sure if that's helpful for the list you are compiling though!

Not the super healthiest thing but it's food: the Zatarain's red beans and rice is vegan, and I think some (but not all?) of the other Zatarain's are vegan too.

Say what? I am curious since I spend way to much time in Target and have not seen this.

Stacy's Pita chips (plain) are vegan - they are baked so if you want a chip option that is not bad reach for 'em! I am trying to see if Sabra Hummus is vegan - they come in snack packs now. Also Wholly Guacamole is natural and comes in 100 calorie packs.

If Sabra is not vegan, that will break my heart.

As far as I know, Sabra is vegan! What would be unvegan about it?

Some storebought hummus has dairy in it. Yeah, I know, gross. I have definitely had some Sabra varieties that are vegan but I have no idea about all of them!

edit: I am looking at their website and I suppose the "natural flavors" could also be suspect?

Damn. I never think to check hummus when I buy it at the store, I always just assume it's vegan. I should know better by now.

I was in the supermarket today and there were some readymade croutons in the Kosher section (but not like regular bready croutons, these looked more pasta-ish like widdle dumplings.) Forgot the brand name though. The label said you could use them as croutons or snacks!

And also some of those packaged rye breads that are like, eight slices per pack and keep for a month on the shelf and the slab I saw today had a picture of an athlete on them, to imply their healthiness. Hearty, healthy substantial bread for your sammiches!

Yeah, if you're Canadian and in SDM check out the Nativa foods line of products. I have some of their maple sandwich cookies in my cupboards (like Oreos, but maple) that are all vegan as per my check of the ingredients and several of their other snack items seem to be vegan.

mestemacher fitness bread! that's my favorite bread for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. is that the least fit sandwich i can make? fork you, mestemacher, you can't tell me how to live. imma take this muesli bread with the buff weightlifter on it and dip it in frosting and eat it in bed.

Yay! I know some hummuses have dairy, but I had never seen it in Sabra so I was freaking out that there was some other non-vegan ingredient that I had missed. I like Sabra hummus.
