It's a pretty standard chocolate chip cookie recipe (who knows where she got it), but it's the one I grew up with, and others aren't the same. They come out puffier with flax eggs and EB than they do with chicken eggs and dairy butter, but they taste like what I remember. So, I'm happy.
I just wanted to share the happy. :-)

but, seriously, that's awesome! They are very close to the tollhouse recipe, actually. There's a tiny bit more flour and there's cinnamon. And it makes a billion cookies per batch, because that's how my grandmother rolls (I reduced the recipe). I have managed to be vegan for over 2 years and I have only made chocolate chip cookies twice! ETA - I would really like to do her molasses cookies, but the recipe's from my great grandmother and contains two separate ingredient lists and two separate sets of directions, so they are like "choose your own adventure" cookies.

Congrats on the chocolate chip cookies! Last year, I veganized my grandmother's molasses cookies for my father (she used bacon fat amongst other non-vegan things) and he loved them! It was a proud moment for me, as I can imagine this is for you!

At the beginning, you have to choose whether you want to use 1 cup of molasses and 2 cups sugar or the reverse ... And then there's my Great or Great-great Aunt Sarah's recipe, which doesn't call for eggs ... Ingredients 1 cup sugar salt and vanilla 1 cup dark molasses 1/2 cup coffee 2 level teaspoons soda in a little more coffee 1 cup shortening Pastry flour to handle well. Roll quite thin. It would be easier if I knew what the texture of the dough should look like...
