for the record, my original request for corned beef hash was for that nasty stuff out of the can I loved as a kid....not like a big hunk of corned beef..

Yeah, your post about hash reminded me that I miss corned beef...hunks. Hahaha! The vegan recipes I've tried have not been great. :(

Yeah I too loved corn beef with lots of yellow mustard and the cabbage that was cooked with it.

I'm trying to think of things I want veganized from my childhood, but it was all fried bologna sandwiches, mac n cheese with boiled hot dogs, bean burritos, and spaghetti in my house, and I already know how to veganize all those things. I really used to like creme brulee though. Can you do that? But without a torch, because I'll never buy one.

Corned beef hash from a can, fried in a pan, topped with an equal amount of ketchup.

Warm chicken curry dip! I had it at a party once, and it was amazing. It was creamy, so I think the base was sour cream and possibly mayo. Then it had so much curry in it that the whole thing was yellow. The chicken was soft and shreddy, rather than chunky, so I'm thinking maybe jackfruit or something instead of chick peas? But I don't know. I tried to get the omni recipe, but the cook was resistant to my jedi mind juju. The force is strong with her.

Seems like the internet says that recipe is from Pampered Chef. This is a good blog post about it.

You could veganize this easily if you have access certain vegan products. Beyond Meat chicken strips, Toffuti Cream Cheese, and Daiya Mozzarella is what I would use.

It's so weird to me when people won't share their recipes.

Ooh! Roti canai with dhal dip. Only once have I found it vegan. Usually either the roti has butter or eggs or the dhal has chicken.

Heads up that there's a recipe for it in Chloe's Kitchen, though I'd love to see an Isa version too!

There's one in Vegan Eats World too, it took me forever to make but it's pretty mind-blowing when it's done.

Pickles, spicy ones. I'm afraid of canning.
Also, proper Yorkshire pudding!

Vijita, there is a wheatberry paella in the PPK recipes to hold you over...

I think someone else said suggested it as well, but I need some creative chard ideas. My little garden is going bonkers with chard, and I can only make so many frittatas and chard salads.

Things to do with beets! My CSA/farm share type thing always gives me at least 4 a week and I'm at a loss.
