I am on a quest to find a really fabulous veggie burger. I like the texture to be a bit crumbly but hold together. Do not care for any I've made with TVP. Is there a really good veggie burger out there? July 4th is coming and I want my meat eater friends to say WOW!

Gardein makes an awesome veggie burger. If you want something homemade, i usually use the beet burgers from PPK.

The new vegnews is full of burger recipes, mostly lentil based.

Bryanna just posted one: http://veganfeastkitchen.blogspot.ca/20 ... rgers.html
it didn't hold up as well as I'd hoped but then found out that hubby, who made them, didn't really measure any of the ingredients, just sort of eyeballed it.
The flavour and smell was awesome though. I will definitely make them again, measuring the ingredients.

Vegan Richa's are so good! I loved her beet burger.

I like both the beet burger and the lentil olive burger on ppk. I recently made the lentil olive one into little sliders and it worked perfectly.

Another suggestion!

Dreena Burton posted this recipe about a month ago and I was all over it: Umami Almond, Quinoa and Sundried Tomato Burgers. They're amazing! You can sub brown rice for the quinoa, and the uncooked burgers freeze very well.

I sure will. I'm going to try the suggestions that were posted so far. I find lots of toppings really improves the taste and texture. Cole slaw is good on them and I also like Russian dressing. I got "The Best Veggie Burger on the Planet" cookbook, tried a few but haven't found "The One" yet. I'll keep trying!

I love The Cinqo de Mayo burger from Just The Food (blog). But I also tested for TBVBOTP and loved most of them.
