Have we talked about the vegan cream cheese? The TJ's near me only used to carry the trans fat version of Tofutti in the yellow tub (bleh), but I saw someone in another thread mention Trader Joe's own brand cream cheese. I checked this week and found it. I haven't tried it yet but I'm excited. I really hope it's good. Bagel time!

so i heard a rumor tonight that their tortillas are suddenly un-vegan (both wheat and white). can anyone confirm? i'm away from home but when i get back on monday i'm definitely checking the back-stock in our freezer.

The ones in the fridge that we just bought today appear vegan to me (regular white flour variety). I think the truly handmade (homemade?) kind have honey but the regular flour tortillas are vegan?

We have it and it's good! The label makes me laugh every time I read it.

Totally going through this thread right now because I'm going to Trader Joe's for the first time since I moved tonight! (it's 40 minutes from where I live right now but my mom and I thought it would be fun. Yes, we are lame)

okay, yep, it appears that the smaller ones (homemade?) have honey, but the large flour ones we've been buying are still safe. whew!

also, i bought a tube of the jumbo cinnamon rolls and i am *super* excited to eat them. the crescent rolls were vegan too, but i left those behind... this time.

Ok! I tried them! Even though their non V status makes me suspicious...

They are pretty much awesome. Everything I remembered canned cinnamon rolls to be, fantastically easy to make, gooey and sweet, generous packet of icing and... they made the house smell INCREDIBLE. The smell. I mean, c'mon, they tasted fine. Good, even. But the SMELL. It's like....grandma's house. <3<3<3

It's too hot to turn my oven on, but as soon as it's cooler I have to have the cinnamon rolls.

OH I love their not cream cheese cream cheese!
I think its more spreadable than the tofutti brand. My only complaint was that when i opened the tub, it was HARDLY all the way full. I bought tofutti yesterday in a pinch and it was full to the top whereas the TJ brand looked like it was only 3/4 full. I might weigh it next time i buy it, see if they are scamming us.

I love the "this is not cream cheese" spread! If you eat it off the spoon only the first bite tastes like cream cheese or at least what I remember cream cheese to taste like. As long as its on something or if you add herbs and spices, its great!

Since there has been so much talk about these, here's a picture of the jumbo cinnamon rolls I baked a few days ago.

They are really yummy! I also baked and ate them with homemade vegan butter. That made them extra delicious!

1) Chia seeds - awesome! I had been holding out on buying them until they hit TJ's. I knew it was only a matter of time.

2) I think the cream cheese is the repackaged FYH or Galaxy, right? Whatever it is, yuck. I wasn't digging the texture or non-taste on a bagel. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything, IMO. I used the rest in pie filling, I think.

It's Galaxy, yes. I think it's fine on a hot bagel but it's nasty cold. I kind of think that about all vegan cream cheese, though.

I'm visiting family in Chicago and went to Trader Joe's just because of this thread. I bought the maple leaf cookies, thai tom yum soup with dumplings, dark chocolate sea salt almonds, roasted seaweed snack, carrot juice, green mangoes, and some (CHEAP!) Clif bars.

I already tried two of the maple leaf cookies and holy forking shiitake. SOOOOOO DELICIOUS buuuut I could never eat a whole box in one sitting. They are so rich!

My favorites from Trader Joe's are the soy chorizo, (it makes the most awesome fajitas!) the peach freezer pops, and the frozen Indian "burgers."

I can't find the dark chocolate sea salt almonds... Are they in a clear plastic tub? All of the chocolate almonds I can find have milk in them.

Nick, they are in a clear plastic square tub, and they are actually turbinado sugar and sea salt (or something like that). I think the label is yellow. Definitely dark chocolate, no dairy. My favorite thing of all from Trader Joe's.
