So, I've never used coconut cream before...I bought a can to use to top our pumpkin pie for Christmas. Do I need to whip it or is it thick enough after being refrigerated to be spooned on top? I'm sure this is a really stupid question, I've just never seen this product outside of the can, and I want to know what to expect.

You'll probably want to whip it first.

I picked up some chicken-less salad tonight that I don't think I've ever seen before. I'm looking forward to trying it.

booo they have discontinued the meatless balls, possibly forever. Such a bummer because they were an easy and reliable thing for my kids to eat. But on the bright side I will now be forced to try to make from scratch - I liked the idea of teeny lentil-based ones from PPK blog and I'll also get into the tempeh ones from IDI too I guess.

What?! Audrey, when did you hear that? I asked, maybe a week ago, if they were discontinuing the meatless balls, and they said no, but they were having supply issues and not being told when they could get more.

In the mean time, try the Vegan Dad meatless ball recipes.

I also bought a bag of the Whole Foods 365 brand frozen meatless balls. I feel guilty. I think I like them better than the TJ's balls. But I also think they are more expensive for less.

Bummer about the meatballs if they are really gone. they were one of my TJ staples!

But they are just re-branded Nate's (I am pretty sure). So if you can find those, they may be more expensive but are the same.

I got it and it is as stiff as whipped cream straight out of the can
It is wonderful.

Yeah, we've been buying Nate's since TJ's hasn't had them, and I can't see/taste any difference. Unfortunately then local chain market where we get them is ludicrously expensive, but I like to keep a few bags in the freezer for when "meaty" inspirations like shepherd's pie or Swedish meatballs strike.

I'll just bet you did - PHWOAR! (But yeah, that stuff is great; I used it for my Christmas trifle and it was so much like the "real thing" that even my dairy-obsessed, skeptical omnivore sister was impressed.)

Also amazing, take coconut cream + vanilla + the tiniest bit of dark molasses. Swoony.

So my store got soy chorizo back in... and it is no longer vegan! It now has "cultured and uncultured grade a nonfat dry milk powder(for freshness)." They must have switched vendors for it. So stupid, much annoyance.

I'd given up on the chorizo, but that is annoying. Now I've moved on to being upset about the meatless meatballs. Also, the veggie tofu burgers have been relegated to a small space on the very top shelf in my store, so I'm wondering if those will be the next to go.

I stocked up on 15 bags of Nate's meatballs at the Grocery Outlet recently. Take that Trader Joe.

Man.

Bringing the soy chorizo back with milk is worse than never bringing it back at all.

Sorry if this has been posted before. We just got a TD and today I discovered these "Chile Spiced Mango" strips in the dried fruit section. They are chewy as hell, but I can't stop eating them.

Be careful with those dried mangoes! They are so chewy that I once chipped a tooth while biting in. I chipped the tooth by slamming my other tooth into it from trying so hard to bite through. I did not actually chip my tooth on the mango itself. But they are delicious.

So irritated at TJ's

Soyrizo now has milk

Meatless meatballs are GONE. The Nate's ones, I am not sure they are the same. I got a bag, and I didn't like them as much as the TJ's ones

Also, my TJ's stopped carrying my absolute favorite tofu: the super firm high protein kind. Its re-branded wildwood, and my local health food store stopped carrying it too :(

I noticed this wasn't at Wegmans either! I really hope this isn't permanent.
