Everybody I've served the Cherry Chip Soy Creamy to has loved it. My dad couldn't believe it wasn't real ice cream, and my omni former room-mate was PISSED when I threw away a carton I bought that still had a scoop and a half left in it. Sesame seaweed rice balls are the shiz. Pop chips. Organic vegetarian chili. Beer bread mix. Fresh whole wheat pizza dough!

Aww shiitake! I'm gonna blame you when I start a strudel habit.

So I went to Trader Joe's after work tonight and literally had to keep myself from jumping up and down in the aisle when I spotted these babies:

Have not tried them yet since I forgot to grab some pita bread out of excitement, but wanted to spread the word!

The lady who checked me out said they were brand new this afternoon.

One time when we were visiting my grandparents, I found a pint of this in their freezer when I was looking for ice. I got really excited and was all, "Yay, vegan ice cream!" and my step-grandma was like, "Wait, that's vegan?" Turns out that she had been buying it for years, thinking that it was regular ice cream. I guess she never looked at the carton too closely. . .

But really, why WOULD you throw away a carton with a scoop and a half left?

Their Pumpkin Bread mix & their Cinnamon Crumb Cake mix is AWESOME. (for those like me who like to bake, but don't always do from scratch or have time...these are quick easy & delicious!!)

I'd already eaten the majority of the container to the exclusion of all other foods. If its in the house, it will sound good for breakfast lunch and dinner. So now I only buy it if I'm sharing it immediately.

Love cherry chocolate ice cream, just like everyone else. Love chili lime cashews, too.

Opposite of love their vegan mayonnaise. Yech. I have a jar of it in the fridge because throwing it away would feel wasteful, but at the same time...um, never going to eat it.

I don't know if you'd want to go this far, but if you live in Asheville (NC), Greenville (SC) now has a Trader Joe's on Woodruff Road. I haven't visited yet, but I hope to before long...I've never been to Trader Joe's as there never has been one anywhere around me b4.

I bought some of the new TJs brand hemp milk the other day and it's good! Tastes like repackaged Living Harvest to me, and way cheaper.

Bad idea to just read through this entire thread when there is no Trader Joe's even close to me, I think I'm going to have to participate in the next swap and get some of these maple cookies everyone seems to love! :)

Is the falafel in the freezer section? I have been having a hankering for falafel and am an utter failure at making it myself. I need to get to TJ's and soon!

Was there today and just couldn't leave without a box of Candy Cane Joe Joe's. It's the holidays, after all.

Other items that usually end up in my cart are the unsweetened dried mango, dried cranberries, almond butter, frozen edamame, organic jam, coconut milk, tempeh (so cheap!) kettle corn, and lots of popsicles in the summertime.

Is the falafel as good as I hope it is? I don't buy a lot of prepared foods, but I could get excited about good frozen falafel.

I noticed the frozen falafel the other day but didn't get it. I did however get the maple leaf cookies for the first time, yum! I also love the spicy lentil wraps, the cherry chocolate chip ice cream, goddess dressing, the soygurt, baked tofu, sunflower seed butter and the peppermint joe joes. I also love the extra firm tofu typically, but last night found a long cotton string imbedded throughout my tofu. I know it's a rarity, but has kinda turned me off it for a bit. I don't like buying produce there, I never seem to have good luck with it. I don't go to trader joes often but always walk out with tons of stuff every time I go.

FYI -- Trader Joe's has recalled several products containing cilantro: http://www.traderjoes.com/about/customer-updates.asp#58

You guys! I can't find this damn strudel anywhere! I've looked twice at both the SoMa and Geary TJ's in SF. Someone take me there, hold my hand, and guide me to it. I want that shiitake!

They have it at the North Beach TJ's! Come see me after work sometime, and we'll hit it up!

Also, I moved this thread to the kitchen, because it's really about food, even if the foods are products. Carry on!

Our TJ's had candy cane jo-jo's this weekend! I am trying to make myself hold off on buying them until Thanksgiving, but that is completely arbitrary and not very likely to work.

Is it even possible to spend hundreds of dollars at TJs? I get a huge basket of stuff and then they ring me up and it's always around $20 or $30. I'm baffled every time.

I like that the sign for tots says that they're vegan. However, in the past couple months that I've known about the tots, they've only been stocked once. I was at TJ's yesterday and totally meant to buy tots.
