yep, that was one of my fears for sure, plus the cups are pretty big! i was afraid i would accidentally fill it to overflowing. i ended up being pretty delicate with my servings (both the froyo and the toppings) and made it out of there for only $3.16.

then i came home and ate a bagel with peanut butter on one half and daiya strawberry cream cheese on the other half, so i clearly did a great job at not eating too much. ha!

*goes back downstairs for chips & queso*

I don't think I can be trusted with self-serve machines. My mom likes to remind me of the time when, as a child, I tried to get myself soft-serve in a restaurant and couldn't turn the machine off. It was aaallll over the place- the counter, the floor, everywhere. I was a pretty smooth kid.

Anyway I'm happy to have someone do it for me, for that reason and portion/cost control too!

Ha! Like that scene from Buffy where she breaks the handle off the soft serve machine, and after awkwardly trying to fix it for a minute she just puts it down and walks away like nothing happened. I tried to find a gif or something but apparently I'm the only one who remembers it?

Mine is a self-serve and the cups are HUGE so I was trying to be conservative because my natural tendency is to way-too-big portion sizes. I ended up with so little that I ate it in a block and a half. Next time I'm filling that sucker up!

You are not! That's exactly what I thought of too. This was the best gif I could find, though.

I got some today! Hooray!

Yeah, the cups are ENORMOUS. So I was extra conservative, too, and then it ended up being only like $2.50-worth. I was sharing with Inez and we could have done with a little bit more. Next time!

We got 2 kiddie cones for $1.86 each. They were yum.

I like the idea of sending thank you letters.

When we went, my husband wanted a small but there was no real 'small' displayed so we asked and they pulled one out from behind the counter. Of course I figured out later it would've been just cheaper for us to share the large (I had gotten a medium).

And they are reporting that many locations have sold out and will be restocked on the 26th.

I may or may not have driven the 16 miles to TCBY three times this week.

Ours is sold by weight. I keep getting buy one get one 50% off coupons so it's not so bad. We spend like $7 for two HUGE ones and he puts everything under the sun on his and gets one of those huge bowls full.

That's when Riley is calling her peculiar because he can't yet admit his feeling of lurrrrrrrve.

I wouldn't even care if it was by weight, I miss fro-yo so much. I will pay $20 for a gigantic cup if I have to! Our TCBY exited town long before I even thought about being vegan, but they had chocolate vanilla swirl fro-yo in the food stand at Sam's and my mom and I would get that all the time. Along with a $1 slice of the oiliest pizza ever. Good, artery hardening times.

Now if we can just get Wendy's to make a vegan Frosty for me to dip my fries in.

the first time i went to a self serve place (sweet frog), I was all "oh, wow, look at these big containers - I guess I fill them?" and I got one for Livi and one for Will and it was like $15! Because they never have signage by the self serve machines, saying that it's by weight.

Anyone have any idea if the dark chocolate chips are dairy free? Sadly the website doesn't have ingredients for toppings, just the yogurt.

I have spent a good amount of time thinking about a vegan frosty. It seems to me that they are so artificial that no one would miss the dairy.

I think Isa said it best, it tastes like a rich Italian sorbet. It's not as heavy as the coconut soft serve at the co-op here, so in that it's refreshing! I hope they do more flavors, like strawberry or vanilla. I'll email them right now.
