I can't decide if it's a matter of preference or if it has to be refrigerated. When I opened mine today it was really separated and the solid parts were tough to stir though, so I'm thinking no fridge? Help me out PPK experts. Thanks!

i never refrigerate mine & have never had a problem -- but i do know plenty of people who refrigerate theirs (which is not helpful, i know!). i also don't refrigerate peanut butter, so maybe you can look to your own peanut butter storage habits for the answer?
if you know you're going to use the tahini a day or so in advance & it is all separated like that, turning it upside down & leaving it that way overnight is really helpful.

i refrigerate it and my peanut butter, but my tahini is also pretty liquidy, so i don't have a problem with separating and hard parts.

Always in the fridge. But then, I refrigerate nuts and seeds, too. Drives the Mr. crazy.

I don't refrigerate mine (or any nut butters) but mine separates too. I figured that just had to do with the brand.

I fridge all my nut butters...actually I fridge everything, even stuff that goes in for no good reason, like pretzels, crackers, coconut butter. It does get tough to stir the tahini and certain nutbuts but I do it really hard when it first goes in, then I try to do it regularly after that.

I keep mine in the fridge. Only because I keep all my nut butters in the fridge since they say to once opened, and it just became habit to stick anything like a nut butter in the fridge. Not sure if it actually says so on the jar or not, though.

I refrigerate mine, as well as all nut butters. All nuts and seeds in non-butter form go into the freezer.

i'm keeping mine in the fridge right now, only because the jar tells me to. (the company nuts to you). i don't refrigerate any other nut butters and would prefer not to. i like when they're kind of runny and delicious.

I've never refrigerated mine. It still separates - I thought that was just what tahini did. And I've never even thought about refrigerating peanut or nut butters - though after reading this thread I am starting to think maybe I have been doing it wrong all these years!

I don't refrigerate mine, but my house mate does! I guess it depends on 1. how quickly you use your tahini and 2. the climate of where you live. For example, I go through mine within a month or two and live in a temperate climate, so I don't see any need to refrigerate mine. However, if you were going to be keeping it for much longer or live in a warmer climate, I'd worry about the oils going rancid, so would probably keep it in the fridge.

I used to be a no fridge, but now I'm a fridge. It doesn't seem easier to stir, though... now it's just cold.

i fridge mine, but it never separates...it's pretty liquid-y though. i pretty much refrigerate anything that it says to on the jar. so, all my nut butters except the cheap asparagus peanut butter i buy that stays in the cupboard for a year.
