I sent them an e-mail explaining why dairy and eggs should not be included in their vegan options, so hopefully they will get back to me and maybe change the menu.

I'm a little more concerned about the Orecchiette con rape and what kind of broccoli rape is involved

I like the military-inspired font at the top!

Ooookay! I get irritated when things with oyster sauce are labelled vegetarian but this is just silly!

In their defense, it says "Vegetariano" not "Vegano"--the only item explicitly claiming to be vegan is rigatoni amatriciana VEGAN.
Also, "rape": a regional name for something we call broccoli raab= broccoli de rape = broccoli de rabe = brocoletti di rape = rape = raab = rapini.

Hah, it says vegan right next to the seitan carbonara with eggs and cheese (which, by the way, has cracked black pepper, not just your standard black pepper). There's a pizza place in my neighborhood that does something like this. I think they thought if they just wrote vegan organic natural healthy gourmet all over the menu, they'd get more customers.

I didn't know that all of those were the same. I was concerned about the broccoli rape as well. As long as it's the same as broccoli rabe, it makes sense.

There is a vegetarian pizza place somewhere near me... it is basically an italian restaurant that serves a bunch of fish.

Hah, yeah I'd be really nervous about getting anything from there. If they think eggs and cheese are vegan, I'm sure they'd use beef stock in everything.

yes, this whole thread is really just supposed to be funny!
this just happens to be the first restaurant i've seen in my 'hood that actually says stuff is vegan when it isn't. most places that actually have vegan options don't say anything.
