I don't think there is another thread about this. I'm all excited because yesterday I completed a cookie spreadsheet haha. I wanted to figure out how much flour, eb, sugar etc. that I needed overall. These are the cookies I'm making:

Rum logs
Pecan snowballs (wedding cookies)
Chewy chocolate raspberry
Pignoli almond
Chocolate dipped macaroons
Swedish chocolate balls
Fudge

At least, I hope I'll make them all! I do this every year- come up with a big list then scramble to make them...but I can't help myself. Mmmm cooookies.

I have had two requests from the family to repeat some from last year: Fig Bars and PB Pillows, but the rest are up to me...
I want to try some that I didn't make last year. I made a lot last year, but there are SO many in VCIYCJ!
I think I want to try:
Chocolaty Crinkle Cookies
Sweet Chocolate Pretzels
Cranberry Walnut Thumbprints

FUDGE. yes. I saw that thread last night. Must try.

... what are some other ones I must try? I've already tried so many good ones.

Well, for Round I of cookie gifts with my husband's family I made sugar cookies, orange spritz, chocolate/almond/cherry, fudge puddles, and gingerbread. Round II will include more sugar cookies, gingerbread, Spritz, and probably rugalach, and something chocolate/PB, and something nutty.

Good idea with the spreadsheet! I don't know what I'm making yet, but I sure want to break in my new cookie press. I got it a couple of months ago and still haven't made any. That's just wrong.

I haven't made Christmas cookies in such a long time, so I'm starting with a classic: sugar cookies (from VCIYCJ). The hazelnut raspberry thumbprints and pignoli almond look awesome, so I might have to make those later as well.

definitely the Sparkling Ginger Cookies from VWAV - a holiday fave!
also, the alfajores from Viva Vegan my personal fave.

And probably others as yet to be determined.

This year I am going to try a raw dessert platter. I have decided on Shazzie's Christmas Balls, Kate Wood's Christmas Sweets and White Chocolate, Brownie Bites, and a couple of Ani Phyo's cookie recipes. I think it will be a fun change and I can't wait to see how they are received!

What recipe do you use for spritz cookies? I saw my mom's cookie press in the garage last night and decided I should make some this year. We used to make them every Christmas when I was a kid.

I know I'll make gingerbread at some point, but I don't know what else yet.

I've made the spritz cookies in Vegan Cookie Connoisseur and they turned out great.

We decided to do gift bags for the family (17 in total).

sables marbres
spiced sweet potato blondies
carrot raisin spice
cowboy
chai spice shortbread
cardamom sugar
cherry almond
gingerbread biscotti
cranberry pistachio biscotti

Also doing a few candies, crackers, pumpkin muffins, and focaccia. I'm baking and freezing cookies this week. The bread will be baked the day before we leave for home.

I'm still deciding. Making cookie choices is hard!

Sugar cookies are a definite yes.
Maybe Peanut Butter Pillows.
Chocolate thumbprints have been a hit in years past.

I usually end up making 3-5 different kinds for cookie plates.

I haven't decided for sure what I'm making yet, but after the fudge thread, fudge is definitely going to be on the list! Also, probably gingerbread cutouts from VCIYCJ and either sparkled ginger cookies from VWAV or blackstrap gingersnaps from VCIYCJ.

This is a list-in-progress, but so far:
Urban Vegan's Brownie Bites
Ginger molasses cookies
VWAV chocolate chip (still my most popular)
VWAV pumpkin oatmeal cookies
caramel corn

Now I'm off to the fudge thread. Mmmmmm fudge....

So far, I'm making fudge and pb pillows for my friends as gifts. I'm also planning on making cookies for my family. Last year, I made the mexican chocolate snickerdoodles, but I think they were 'too weird' for the fam. So...cowboy cookies? I want to make something new and different, but also something that my family won't think is too out there....

Cowboy cookies are a super win. The peanut apple pretzel drops (p. 64) are awesome if you like all of those ingredients. They're a spectacular combination.

Don't know how many of these I will actually end up making, but I have a list knocking around my head. Last year I made FAR too many cookies- it was fun, but sad when a lot of them inevitably go stale.

Mexican Hot Chocolate
Sparkly gingersnaps
Jam dots (probably using my family's "wedding cookie" recipe for the base)
Sugar cookie cutouts
Black cocoa chocolate cutouts
Something maple-y. Probably another cutout with a glaze.

I am really into mini cookie cutters, and I'm excited to have expanded my collection quite a bit this year with the purchase of a bag of mini xmas themed cutters :D

My library apparently doesn't have this book. Sad!

I second the peanut apple pretzel drops, they're fantastic!

For the kids:

    Chocolate chip
    Hypnosis cookies
Maybe peanut butter pillows, if I can be bothered.

For the grown ups:

    Pfeffernusse
Maybe pignoli cookies, if I can find almond paste
Maybe chai spice shortbread, not sure about this one yet.

My own that I stole from who knows where a million years ago. Just leave out the spices to make regular spritz cookies http://megatarian.blogspot.com/2010/11/ ... okies.html

If I can find it again, my old neighbor used to make these great cookies with cream cheese and lemon mixed in, and she'd dip the ends in chocolate and chocolate sprinkles! Magic. Drool.

I LOVE spritz cookies - to me they have to be green and they have to be trees. Childhood!

I have to un-gluten things this year.
