Until today, I always thought vermouth was an herbal liqueur or something... I just looked it up on Wikipedia and found out it's wine! Which leads me to believe that most/some vermouth isn't vegan. I feel so betrayed! I'm not a big drinker, but I can't believe I didn't know this before.

I've never bought vermouth before but was planning to get some this week for a recipe. Help me out! What are some vegan brands you could recommend? I can't check barnivore at my work, but I assume there are some on there... Any not listed on Barnivore that you know and love?

I typed "vermouth" into barnivore search and got two results. One of which was NOT vegan. The winery listed that IS vegan is Quady Winery.

The two big common ones are Cinzano and Martini & Rossi. Martini & Rossi is not vegan friendly and Cinzano may be.

Thanks, everyone! Our liquor store isn't that well stocked and getting them to order things is hard unless I want a case. I guess my best option is to write down the brands they have and email the companies. I will keep you posted on my vermouth adventures!
