I'm losing my new thread virginity on the new boards!
It's never good the first time.
Anyways, I'm putting together a giftbasket for the GF and I wanted to stuff some tasty treats in there. Any ideas? She loves Tofurkey jerky so I'm putting one of those in there and probably some chocolate bars.
I'm not baking anything. Baking scares me.

Make her a card. Your drawing skills are irrelevant. The sillier the better.

Depends what she likes. When I did up one for my parents I put in wine, fancy jams, dips, expensive nut butters, tasty crackers and of course cookies. You could just buy some cookies if you don't want to bake.

My boyfriend sends me packages like this. Some cute things he's done that I've really appreciated:
--Popcorn + a movie for us to watch together: once it was an actual DVD that he'd burned me a copy of, another time it was a note with the name of a movie to watch on netflix. He ties these to a bundle of microwave popcorn with ribbon.
--hot chocolate: he put together hot cocoa mix and vegan marshmallows in a mason jar and tied a candy cane stick around the lid. It was part of a christmas package =]
--trail mix: nuts, raisins, craisins, pretzel sticks, dried blueberries/pineapple/cherries/banana chips etc.
--chocolate covered pretzels/almonds/peanuts. You can get these store bought, but making them yourself isn't that difficult.
--a letter! I always love it when he leaves a letter on top for me to read.
I don't know what you're situation is, but we're college students in a long distance relationship so we send each other little packages all the time. We send mostly snack food stuffs to help with busy exam times, and comforting things like letters and cards/pictures.

I definitely like theme baskets. I did a board game and movie theme for my sister in law one year. I've done plenty of wine and cheeze ones. I gave coworkers breakfast themed ones with mugs, homemade pancake mix, and cocoa.
I generally like to have sweet and savory snacky items, something that requires cooking (soup, etc), and something non edible (mug, movie, game, cards, etc.)

This thread is absurdly inspiring! Mo, I love the idea of themed baskets and your mix of items. TheChickpea, your boyfriend sounds so lovely and creative!

Very succinct! I'll be thinking of this for gifting this season. Thanks! Usually I do a cookie & tea sampler, but I'd like to do more savories and entertainment.
