I am starting a new job. I have multiple sites and so multiple people I answer to . . . so I want to start the year off with happy associations by bringing cookies to all of the offices. I'm wondering what are your very favorite cookie recipes? I am leaning away from chocolate chip, but hey, if it's your favorite, tell me so and tell me which cookbook it's from. Pretty please?

I asked andydufresne today, so she's the first respondent, and she said the sparkled ginger cookies with crystallized ginger.

I'd love to hear who else has input, and thanks!

The peanut-sesame-ginger cookies from VCON are the BEST cookies ever. Super impressive, although they're pretty easy. And very pretty if you roll them in both black and white sesame seeds. (And they have crystallized ginger which makes any cookie a win.)

Maybe boring, but I would make chocolate chip. Everybody loves chocolate chip. Whenever I ask my students which of a choice of cookies they want me to make (I always bring them for the highest test average class), they always choose chocolate chip by a landslide.

I think there is just something about simple chocolate chip cookies that makes people happy.

I usually use the recipe in Isa's cookie book. The VWAV recipe might be a smidge better, but it uses a metric ton of EB, wheras the other uses oil, so it's one bowl to make and cheaper.

Yes. Chocolate chip cookies are wonderful.

Aside from that, I love Isa's gingerbread punks recipe. It's on the PPK blog, and I've made it at LEAST a dozen times.

Yeah, I love chocolate chip cookies (VCIYCJ). But I also like rocky road cookies (VCIYCJ, I use chopped pecans instead of almonds) and snickerdoodles (Vegan Cookie Connoisseur).

Mexican hot chocolate snickerdoodles or the Chocolate Chip cookies on the PPK blog. I only make the snickerdoodles during the fall though. They are season specific for me! Also, a good peanut butter cookie makes me really happy.

The peanut butter pillows are so easy to make and have a big WOW factor. I've brought them in for omnis and been told they were the best cookies people had ever tasted and was hailed as a baking genius for about 14 minutes of work. And the recipe makes a lot and is relatively cheap.

Seconding the rocky road cookies. I keep the almonds and switch the white chocolate chips for chopped up Dandies. So good. They've been a huge success with work peeps.

the chocolate crinkle cookies from VCTOYCJ are amazing. ive had omnis rave about them and eat like 12 at a time.

i also like the cookie dough drops from the same book. they are SO GOOD especially with the melted chocolate on time.
i made the GF ones for a friend and they were AMAZING. the only problem is you keep them in the freezer and they are messy and start to get melty really quick so might not be the best idea for new job.

The spicy carrot chews from VCIYCJ are awesome. I am currently trying desperately to resist the 4 that are left in my kitchen right now. And they take very little active effort, which is nice if you need to make a lot.

People do go crazy for the peanut butter pillows too. Those are a bit more work though.

i made these many moons ago and people were fighting over the who took the last few. it's a martha stewart recipe that was pretty easily veganized: carrot cake sandwich cookies.

I wouldn't call them my favorite, but the cowboy cookies from VCIYCJ always get me the most enthusiastic feedback from omnis. They're almost chocolate chip, but with more stuff thrown in to make them a little more adult-friendly. I like usually bring those and a batch of more interesting or gormet cookies (from VCIYCJ I've tried Mexican hot chocolate, tahini lime, pecan bars, macadamia laces, pumpkin, cherry almond, pignoli, peanut butter blondies, etc...) but the cowboy is always the most universally liked. If I only have time to make one batch, it's that one.

I'd recommend buying a good quality mint bar to use in the recipe if you wind up making them because sometimes I find the mint has a bit of a medicine-y flavor when I've used a lesser quality bar.

These are my go to cookies when I'm baking for parties and get togethers. Everyone is always super impressed.

Yeah! I use Cocoa Camino. It's perfect for those cookies. Yum, I like your xmas adaptation.

The chocolate raspberry things from vcon are easy and so super yum. I make with strawberry jam and people gobble them like mad.
