I've had these two bags of Dandies in my pantry for ages and they seem to have this kind've yellowish corn syrup-y good in the bottom corners of the bags...I checked the expiration dates and it seems they're 3 months past date, so can I salvage them by taking the marshies that aren't covered in goo?

Okay well I just smelled the open package (which I've been keeping in a zip lock) and they just smell like marshmallows. I think I'm overreacting, on second look it's not that much goo at the bottom so it probably has more to do with the heat over the Summer I guess. Thanks!

I'm just in shock that you kept Dandies that long without snarfing them. A bag lasts about 3.5 minutes around this joint.

With that much sugar, I'd be really, REALLY surprised if they went bad. They're probably stale though.

I hate a whole bag of expired dandies once. They tasted fine, but I kind of never want to eat dandies ever again.

I also still have an entire pack of Newman O's, unopened, and another open one that still has about 6 leftover, two packages of Mac and Cheeze, and Bunny Grahams. All this stuff has been in the pantry for moooonths. Oh, not to mention the 4 boxes of Chick-O-Sticks that my Dad ordered like 3 months ago because he absolutely loved them. I fail at eating candy. I think I'll have to make cake with the Chick-O-Sticks.

I don't know how all those goodies last for so long in your house. I would attacked those Chick-O-Sticks like nobody's business. But yeah, make rice krispies with the Dandies. If you've had them for that long, chances are that they're pretty gritty by now.

I have had dandies and newman o's go off too- because I can't buy them here at all (and I'm assuming it's the same for you) I keep the few morsels I have for 'special'... except that day never seems to arrive!

I thought this thread would be about eating consolation Dandies after a spectacularly bad date.
