Anyone take a multi-vitamin? If so, which one do you prefer?

High potency women's multivitamins from Trader Joe's. They recommend 5/day, I only take one when I remember and figure I'm getting the important stuff. BUT they're horse pills!

I used to take that Rainbow Light one but now I'm taking a B-complex. I may go back to the RL - unsure. Also, the kiddo sometimes takes these sour gummy ones, and I sometimes swear that I'll take those instead cause they're yummy, and adult vitamins are gross.

Rainbow Light Prenatals with "VeganGuard." I figure anything with "VeganGuard" has my best interests at heart.

How do you figure out which vitamins to take? I've looked around and I seem to have two options for vegan multi-vitamins. The ones I take now are basically B2 and B12 plus a bunch of minerals. The other option is a multi-vitamin which has vegan vitamin D, so I'm considering it for winter (I don't think I get enough vitamin D during the winter here in the cold dark north). It does not have minerals, but they do sell a multi-mineral as well. The selection of vitamins/minerals included are very different and the amounts also vary. Also, the ones I'm debating are designed to be taken several times a day, which I don't like. I don't take a multi-vitamin everyday now. Oh, and I've always had weak nails so anything that might help to strengthen them is a bonus.

I am in the market for a new multivitamin. I used to take the VegLife multi but they stopped selling it at Whole Foods and I am too lazy to figure out how to order them online. I liked them but apparently I can't be bothered to do an internet search.

I take VegLife Vegan One Multiple, but it makes me feel nauseated if I don't eat some food beforehand. It smells like horses. The upside? I can afford it.

I've never really been into taking vitamins, but recently bought the VegLife Vegan One (just..in case?). I took my first one yesterday, but it made my pee BRIGHT orange. Makes me think it's all being peed out....... I have the one with iron.

But, the thing is, with vitamins you only absorb a small percentage of what is in them. They have to put a lot in there so that when you only absorb one or two or 10 percent you are actually getting something!

I take the VegLife kids vitamins; all the adult vitamins I've tried made me puke. I did buy the gummy ones once, but it's dangerous making vitamins taste like candy. I think for a good month, anyone within ten yards of me was scurvy-proof.

I take one of the Veglife ones but I can never remember what it's called. I just take the bottle to the coop when it's almost empty and order another bottle. We also take an iron supplement which has raised my iron a tiny bit, but it counts. I'd love to get bloodwork done sometime to see what all my levels are but right now I don't have insurance.
