Hulu keeps running the Botox for migraines commercial. Ok Hulu, maybe I'll talk to my doctor about it!

(I don't think my migraines are actually frequent enough, but Hulu is pushing it hard.)

Hey! So I wanted to add some fun hair color - blue, green, whatever. My stylist said that even with bleaching part of my hair, the fun color really only lasts a month, and she suggested hair extensions. I said yes, but then later wondered about migraines, because I do sometimes get migraines, or at least pain, from having my hair up tightly.

Anyone?

holy hell. yesterday was period + temperature upswing migraine. the worst in awhile.

my hair extensions aren't bugging me, but the hubs upgraded me from my 15" macbook to a 27" iMac and I think it might be no good for the brain...

I've had one all day, worst in a good while. Nothing is really helping it.

I've been a lot better with them since getting off sleeping tablets, I don't know how I coped with these every day!

Can you also feel migraines at the back of the head? Most of the migraines I've had in my life were within the past year, and I think I'm good at identifying them. I had a couple of small ones within the last few days, and then today I felt nauseous and had some pressure in the back of my head/top of my neck. I couldn't tell what was going on so I obviously went into panic attack mode. Self diagnosing on the internet doesn't help either. Guess I'm wondering if that could also be a sign or if it's something else entirely.

It could be a tension migraine sweet_potato, I get a very stiff neck & shoulders with mine.

I've had a mustard of a migraine since Tuesday, it just doesn't want to go away.

Interesting! Haven't heard of those before. I was wondering about tension headaches, and then the internet scared me even more by saying that nauseau doesn't typically accompany those. I'll definitely be looking into those more.

Sometimes, headaches can be a mixture of tension headache/migraine. I know that mine don't really fall neatly into one category. And I definitely get headaches in the back of my neck, too. Hope you feel better soon!

yeah sometimes a tension headache will morph into a migraine

better-ish the last few days. they'll start but sort of fade away, in and out, without going full blown.

Hi everyone
Been away for far to long. I'm off all my migraine drugs now, no topamax, no propanonol (sp?) and I've not had any triptans for a year.
I still get a dull, long lasting, background migrainey headache sometimes, but not often.
I know what a horror they are for you all, but there is hope, unfortunately it comes with age, but I'm so glad I went through the menopause early!
Hope everyone is okay.

I used to get migraines at least once a month, but they are all gone since I stopped drinking coffee. I can still have an occasional latte, but if it's more than one, chances are the 'withdrawal' will trigger a migraine the next day.

UGGGH you guys, I'm so sorry.

Summer is trying to kill me - I'm so excited to move farther north in 2 months.

Mine have been settling down a bit recently. I've gone low caffeine and ditched the codeine, I felt I had entered the land of rebound. I'm doing my best to stay away from chocolate, but that's not so easy.

Regarding tension headaches, I find hot soup or strong tea, as hot as you can take it without burning yourself, can really help in the early stages. The caffeine in ordinary tea increases the stronger it gets, but it doesn't seem to give me rebounds like coffee seems to.

thankful for having found this thread! i've been suffering from migraine attacks as well especially when I'm stressed and one time skipped my usually daily cup of caffeine. ibuprofen makes me sick as well. Best to identify what triggers your migraine and avoid it altogether.

My last two migraines have been so terrible! I got one last night while out at a dance party and tried to ignore it and then it was like OH BLINDING PAIN GOING TO THROW UP. I walked the 30 something blocks home in a daze and purchased Pringles from my local 24-hour convenience store because it was the only thing that sounded good. (I don't think I had had Pringles in years.) Fortunately I took Amerge and woke up feeling mostly better...my last a few days ago was super severe too.

I have been trying to accept that whiskey is a trigger for me but that makes me so incredibly sad.

I had an aura-only migraine on Sunday that was terrifying. I thought I was having a stroke; I was so confused. I'm still a little bit confused. It really freaked me out and I almost wish I had the accompanying headache so at least it would have been easier to self-diagnose, but I grew up with my dad having these kinds of migraines so I was able to call him to talk down my panic.

migraine attacks really renders me useless! i can't do anything else because of hypersensitivity to light and smell. that drunken feeling minus the alcohol and add the throbbing in my head. and chocolates make it worse!
