Pseudoephedrine (probably other decongestants too) in high doses has a bad effect on the natural lubrication that aids in sexytimes! I never noticed it on the 1x/day dose, but taking 2 pills every 4-6 hours is definitely a problem, for me at least.
I've been on the maximum dose of sudafed to clear a nasty sinus infection for the last 5 days. A few days ago I had normal-for-us intensity sex and while things weren't quite as juicy as normal, I didn't think much of it as it had never been a problem before. Wrong idea, I got some friction soreness from it. This morning we used lube from a tube and it hurt a bit during, but hurt a lot after (still does). I learned that one should wait until their lady bits are fully healed before attempting intercourse. Ouch. My vagina is on lock-down until it's healed. I'm also tapering off the pseudoephedrine now that my sinus infection seems to be quickly retreating. It was good to skip antibiotics, but I wish the doc had told me about this side effect when she told me to take such a large amount of it per day.

Yup, and it dries up your breast milk too, if you're lactating

Maybe the doctor didn't think you'd want to have sex when you were sick? i sure don't!

I always get kinda, uh, revved up when I'm sick, but that's probably because of what I used to do like 3 times a day when I was sick enough to stay home alone from high school.

I'm off the decongestants and things are returning to normal. Friction soreness takes a longish time to heal! Next time, I'm avoiding penetration while on high doses of decongestant and sticking with other activities.
Oddly, being sick doesn't decrease my sex drive. Well, tummy bugs do if they are bad enough, but anything else has no effect. Now I know to ask the dr more questions when they tell me to take pills.
