So the naturopath was somewhat puzzled but thinks that it may be a buildup of gas caused by eating a lot of carbs and fiber and not digesting them properly. She is having me take probiotics and digestive enzymes as well as a homeopathic remedy called carbo vegetabilis. She also said I should eat more fats and suggested adding more coconut milk to my diet. She was really nice and seemed to know what she was on about, so I was relieved about that (my first time going to a naturopath).

I was going to suggest this as a route. I had gluten issues for years, and just cut out gluten a few years ago. A homeopathic specialist recommended that I add some intense probiotics into my diet, and it has helped to slowly get my digestive tract back to where it needs to be, not perfect but its greatly improving. Its awesome you have a naturopath doctor near you, they seem to be interested in finding the cause not just doling out prescriptions. I hope you start feeling better!

Also many naturopath doctors have also studied western medicine, of course some haven't too...you have to check. I have had some bad misdiagnosis from two MDs that I went to. I was suffering from bad gluten intolerance/ breaking out in hives for 5-6 years randomly (all over my limbs..even palms and soles of my feet.) and having horrible rashes and two of my traditional doctors had no idea why, and just gave me prednisone. I began having bad bloating, and anal bleeding..sorry its gross. I thought I might have cancer, I was so scared. So I know they don't always get it right either. But it doesn't hurt to get a second or third opinion from several sources. I would try to find a gastrointestinal specialist, if you go that route. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for your response Olivia, you made me feel better. And I'm taking your advice. My mom is getting me put on her insurance, so as soon as that all happens I'll go to the doctor and get that second opinion. I'd like to get an ultrasound just to be sure there's nothing bad going on with my reproductive system and maybe they will have some other advice or ideas.

Edit: Nevermind, I didn't see her other post.

Please do make a doctor's appointment when you can!

Ok, went for an ultrasound today, then had to go the gynecologist. I have a huge (HUGE) ovarian cyst that I need to get surgically removed along with the ovary. I don't really want to talk about it here but I wanted to update the thread in case it helps anyone else in the future. Moral of the story: Go get stuff checked out as soon as you think there may be a possibility of it not being normal.

Oh scotport, I'm so sorry. Glad you're getting treatment. Best of luck with the surgery.

So much for the buildup of gas, eh? I'm glad you're getting treated!

I'm very glad that you got a proper diagnosis. I've known two women who've had similar surgeries and things turned out fine for both, one even had a baby two years later. I don't know if that helps, but hope it does. Wishing you luck and healing.
