Thank you!

I didn't get a second of sleep last night. My emotions stole the night from me. Still went for a bike ride and that definitely improved things for now. :)

Poopie, sounds like plantar fascitis? You can find lots of stretches and info online. Another thing that helps is rolling a bouncy ball under your toes and arches.

That's exactly what I thought when I first read it. Also rolling a frozen water bottle under your arch can help.

It could also be achilles tendonitis. I thought I had pf and used a boot for awhile with no improvement. Once I figured out that it was actually my achilles tendon (you still feel the tugging on the bottom of your heel) I started stretching and foam rolling my calves religiously, which helped a lot. So, in addition to whatever else you try, poopie, be extra kind to your calf muscles because it might help and can't hurt.

They had a health screening at work about a week ago and I just got the results which said my glucose was high. My blood pressure was also high both that time and when I went to the doctor last November but when I check it at home it's fine.

Once every six months or so, I get horrible heartburn for about a week. This is one of those weeks. Tummy pain is the worst.

Update on glasses: I just did a vision test which said R -1.75, L -1.0 but the optician felt it wasn't a big enough change to merit new glasses (-0.5 per eye; the other numbers changed a bit, too, but he just wrote them down on paper for himself/didn't make a print). Instead, he said I should come tomorrow night at 8pm when he's there and we can do another test when my brain's more tired and then decide.

I've only had glasses for about a year, so the idea of "big enough changes" is new to me. Do other people with glasses have opinions? One thing is that if I can wait to January, insurance will pay 50%. If I buy new glasses now, I have to cover everything = about 400 euro's (doable, but letting insurance foot the bill is better, and they only buy new frames every 2nd year).

0.5 is pretty significant- i'm no optician but over the last few years my eyes have gotten better by that much and it's been remarkable- i've gone from being basically helpless with my contacts out to being able to tool around the house and get some things done- maybe not dicing herbs or working in the garden, but general around the house stuff, i can at least see the furniture and objects. (going from around -4 and -5 to -3.5 and 4.5)

i think doing another test is a great idea, and asking him what he thinks a significant change is. maybe he's got some other ideas or reasons. i think you might also want to talk with your, uh, concussion care specialist person (can't remember who it is who's been spearheading your brain care) about whether they think this vision change is significant enough to change lenses.
(also, you may be able to just buy the lenses? i've done that before.)

I think -0.5 is definitely significant! I'm way myopic (-8 in both eyes) and these days every time I feel like I need a new prescription, the change ends up being less than that, and they've even told me on occasion that I didn't really NEED the new prescription but they could give it to me if I wanted.

My left eye has been blurry all day. You know how sometimes you wake up and your vision is a bit blurry? But then you blink a bit and it's ok? Well my left eye hasn't unblurred.

I have that. It's poopy, especially when you typically spend two evenings a week dancing in public.

I also threw my back out doing garden stuff, and am currently lying in bed with a vacant smile on my face because I've given up and gotten some codeine. Limping is a hell of a lot harder when you can't move your back without it hurting more, I tell thee.

Could this be 'White Coat Syndrome'?
I know my blood pressure is always much higher at the doctor's office.

I went to the doctor today and she agreed that I have arthritis. I'm 25 for fork's sake. This hurts so much and worries me endlessly :(

It might not get worse. I know that's not super cheery or anything.

I can hardly stand at the moment so "not worse" is not a good prospect for me. :( I hope it can get better.

Sorry, I didn't mean that to sound that way. I am just a bit frustrated/scared right now.

Oh, ViB, that is scary. Has your doctor recommended any sort of therapy (medical or physio?) that might help?

Hugs to you.

Yeah, I know. I've been in the same boat. But it hasn't gotten worse in the past 15 years, so I guess I take what I can get.

She took some blood and will maybe refer me to a rheumatologist. I had my first bout of it when I was 20 and couldn't move most of my body. It was mostly fine until now, five years later.

I feel I have been eating like shiitake the past months though and I did feel better when I ate healthier. Maybe the whole pants/low-fat thing might help (again)? I hate it but I do feel better with a lot of health stuff when I eat like this, maybe it could help now too... I read some testimonies online but of course that doesn't mean much.

Ouch! I've had that happen, though in my case it was eating whole chips that were too big for my mouth and they scraped the corners. Dumb

Not fun, hope they feel better soon.

Possibly. I also had an only partially controlled migraine the second time. I don't know what effect that would have.

You win bonus points if this happens with salt and vinegar chips.
