I keep going back and forth between constipation and hurting tummy with lots of pooping & colon spazzing. It was similar to when I was first diagnosed. Figures, when I want to start training for a 5K again. This is totally ruining the beginning of spring.

I feel your pain. Well not right now thankfully but it sucks when you can't get it to stop and you need it to.

So, i made a shake today with: soy milk, peanut butter, dried dates, some cocoa and a little maple syrup. Now, my colon is on attack mode. What? Also, does anyone else take fiber supplements? Not to be graphic, but when I first had IBS, it was a combo of constipation and diarrhea. I'd go 3-4 days without movement and then blame! Nowadays, it's mostly the big D when I have an "attack," as I call it. But I am still taking the fiber. Don't know if I still need it.

Mine's picky on the soymilk too. It could also be the dates though.

I am thinking dates. I didn't take my fiber two nights ago, but took it late last night. The running, which jiggled my digestive system around, plus the fiber-licious dates, probably is doing its havoc.

I take soluble fiber every day. I put it in my morning coffee. Without it, I have no consistent control over my IBS, no matter what I eat or what exercises I do. I have cut back to once a day and the minimum dose that works for me. I also try to switch up the type of soluble fiber I use. I don't want a dependent colon - just relief!

BAD MORNING. I guess I shouldn't be surprised - my tummy was gurgly yesterday. Possible culprits include: Fresh pineapple AFR Caesar Chavez dressing New kind of coffee
I hope it was the coffee, because it wasn't good so I won't drink it again, but I clearly love the other 2 things.

Appifanie, it could be the pineapple. I have severe stomach issues when I consume it, even if it's mixed in as juice with other things.
Why is it that when I take a day off from exercising, aka giving my intestines a break from jolting around, it hurts worse than ever?
And why is it when I make delicious dinners to take to work, it hurts so bad after eating them?? UGH.

I got an IBS medication for the pain/bloat. Bentyl, or the generic Dicyclomine. I am SUPER excited!

Took Dicyclomine for the first time on my birthday. Holy cow, talk about being loopy! It made me nuts for about 1.5 hours then it was fine. Driving home was a trip, though. And I felt so parched, like I was a sponge squeezed out. It worked and did its job, but I don't want to become dependent on it.

Let's talk sneak attacks. I'm almost in the midst of one.
Ever feel AMAZING, like awesome for the day. Maybe a little bloat here and there but it's a normal day. So, you go about your routine & then BOOM. I begin heating up, my stomach feels like it will implode. (usually I'm at work at this point.) It goes from zero to 100 in 30 seconds and I feel like death.
Anyone else have this? What are your sneak attacks like?

Anyone else have this? What are your sneak attacks like? YES! I get all hot and nauseated and weak. The worst. It usually happens at a store (usually wal-mart or the post exchange - I have no idea why) fupapack wrote: uh yeah! i think that's a hallmark of ibs. got one today at work totally thunderdomed the b room and then when i exited there was some guy waiting to use it and he's a person i respect! oh no! i hate pooing in public if it's a 1 stall kinda thing.
