We cannot let this thread die! And we never found out if TheChickpea ever confronted her roommates about the mysterious poop on the floor.
Fezza's story about the orthodontist made me remember the poop thread, btw.

she said she didn't confront them. the window of opportunity had passed.
aaanyway, does anyone's poop smell like food? i'm wondering if i am not digesting well. doc says i most likely do not have celiac (2 different blood tests, both normal)
usually it smells like broccoli or chickpeas.

I find my poop usually smells a little like what I've eaten.
Does anyone else remember the scene in Biodome where what Pauly Shore's character ate is guessed based on the smell of his fart?

So, I am pooping pretty much like I used to pre-gan. I don't get enough roughage, apparently. But my farts? They make my dog get up and leave the room.

The first few days after going vegan were VERY interesting for me in the poop arena. After that, nothing spectacular, but 98% have been easy/satisfying. Which I love.
I am constantly burping though. And farting. It's actually beginning to get on my nerves. Although it's probably how I eat. So I should work on that.

Do you stand on the loo seat or something? I can hardly pee if I have to hover never mind pinch one off.

After reading this thread I was all excited when I went for a poo. Sadly, it was small :( I was really looking forward to a massive pooirific experience. But, thanks to my big-ole-bowl of granola this morning I'm anticipating poo-redemption later today!

usually it smells like broccoli or chickpeas. This only happens to me when I eat my dad's black beans and rice. Its my favorite food, and I always feel super gross for thinking "mmm that smells good"

Whenever I eat commercial seitan or high-gluteny things, like Field Roast... it smells the same after my intestines have processed it. I don't think I have a particular sensitivity to wheat/gluten, and I don't get stomachaches or anything, but apparently I don't really digest seitan well.

I was raised to be poo-repressed, sadly. But, thanks to my disgusting husband and the fact that I work as a nurse in a hospital, I can really appreciate (and contribute) some good poop stories.
In reference to TheChickpea's defense of her roommates, I really can't wrap my head around the idea that someone could leave a pile of shiitake on the floor...and not know it?!?!?!?
Finally, if I can possibly wait that long, I should give my husband a poster of the Bristol Stool Scale for his birthday.

So on top of the normal, multiple vegan poops a day, I've discovered that I have to poo when I'm anxious. COOL.

Blueberry, raspberry, orange juice and spirulina smoothie = black poo. (I guess I shouldn't be surprised, it's pretty much the same colour coming out as going in).

ok, so barium makes you constipated and very dehydrated, but it made it's way through. i was expecting pure grey poo, but it was grey mixed with poo. very unappetizing. you're welcome.

I take care of a little 3 year old who always has really colorful poop. Sometimes it is bright neon green, and other times it is bright red. The bright red one scared me the first time I saw it because I thought he was sick, but his mom was like, "oh that just means he ate something with blue dye in it. No big deal."
Has anyone else seen anything like that?

Lisapunk, eating lots of fiber but not drinking TONS of water can make for some pretty savage poos. Good luck on your poop-changing journey.
