Anyone have experience with internal parasites, parasite cleanses, etc? Signs you have them/signs they're gone/etc. A few weeks back people in the same house had them, I work with filthy children, and am pretty sure people get parasites more often than you'd think, so I started doing a cleanse to see if I notice anything differennnt. Currently I'm just dosing myself with garlic and black walnut hull, both of which have other great properties aside from parasite control and prevention.

I think if I suspected I had parasites, I'd start by going to my primary care physician and have some tests run. If they came back positive, then I'd consult with a physician about what sort of treatment is needed to adequately rid my body of them without doing any harm.

i often had parasites as a kid. It was horrifying but also kind of....cool? (cringe) Although I got regular medical care i never got treated for them (my mom said i was nuts. even when i showed her little white worms. but she had her hands full, so no biggie.). I lived. If you really think you have something nasty you should be treated. Parasite is a really large label for all sorts of random things that could be life threatening. On the other hand, if you know what you're dealing with, or if you have no other options, there are many herbs used for this purpose. If you have access to mexican stuff epazote, is delicious (and i believe it's toxic to pregnant women, so i wouldn't fool around with it without further reading). Here, papayas and their seeds are used. I'll eat a papaya's worth of seeds every once in a while (since i often eat things out of my garden without washing) since I'm a dirty hippy. But if it were my kid I suspected had parasites, she'd be off at the clinic before you could say boo.

I had threadworms a couple of times as a child. Signs you have them: VERY itchy anus at night and sometimes visible tiny white worms. You can get medecine (I think it was a powder to be dissolved in water, then drunk) from the pharmacy. Everyone in the house should take it for a few days while you wash everyone's bed linen and towels at a high temperature.

i had parasites for almost a year after india (giardia); and probably several times while in india, too. signs for me were "different" bowel movements and an itchy anus or soles-of-the-feet, especially at night. there's a liquid triad with black walnut, cloves and something in it. i drank a lot of wormwood tea. in the states, i did two or three parasite cleanses (of the "take 3 x 2 herbal pills per day" variety) along with the stuff the infectious disease people gave me.
it was a lot of work.
if you suspect it, i suggest doing tests and taking actual medicine. because, dude, parasites suck. and if you have something that's easily treatable, it's better to do it asap, before the jerks really make *all* of your body home.

Yep, I'd head strait to the Dr. and not wait around playing with "alternative" or natural treatments.
