I've got a weird problem that's come up recently, ppk. It seems I have developed some sort of stuttering problem. It's gotten worse over the last few weeks, and this last week it's been awful. The thing is, I'll be talking and sort of have this violent twitch in my bottom jaw. That twitch also happens when I'm not talking, just sort of out of the blue.

It's embarrassing and I don't know what to do. Is there such a thing as developing a late-life stuttering problem? Or could this twitch be indicative of some other problem?

Could it be anxiety induced panic attacks? This happened to me. It eventually went after after my anxiety issues were sorted.

It could be. I hadn't thought of that. I'm on a new anti-depressant called Symbyax. I wonder if that help or make things worse?

Aha. I am willing to bet you are having a nasty side effect. Wellbutrin is what triggered my anxiety and panic attacks, causing the stuttering. Some of these meds make anxiety worse in some people. I actually didn't even have a panic attack problem before the Wellbutrin

this is what im thinking. in the meantime, you could ask a pharmacist if this is a possible side effect. theyll know more about that sort of thing than your doc

Today, I started hearing things, so I don't think these meds are going to work for me. I'll call my doctor tomorrow. Stuttering on the air also doesn't work and is very embarrassing.
