Hey guys,

For the past couple days I've a considerable amount of pain and discomfort in my joints and muscles.....I can't get comfortable, and no matter how much I stretch or take a bath it won't stop. I know I didn't injure anything particular cause it's a general feeling. It could be stress induced, and I don't want to sound like a hypochondriac. Any tips or advice though? Much thanks.

I brought this exact complaint to my doctor who discovered through blood tests that my vitamin D was low, which can cause bone and joint aches anywhere and everywhere (for me it was migrating aches in my shoulders, elbows, hips, knees and big toe). After two weeks on a Vit. D regimen they're all gone. Try taking two or three times the daily value of vitamin D daily for a few weeks, or go to your doctor for a blood test (then they'll give you the superdose which could work faster).
Hope you find out what it is soon! Achy joints and muscles are horrible... I suffered for a month before going to the doctor!

I just posted a similar question regarding arthritis type symptoms in my hands. I have eliminated nightshade vegetable which have been said to cause these problems, but still no relief.

Alligator - I will try the vitamin D too. Thanks!

I have achey joints and muscles, mostly muscles. I have fibromyalgia though, I also am going to be getting checked for psoriatic arthritis too.

alongside visiting a doctor, you might try eliminating gluten and going on an anti inflammation diet, which avoids refined sugar and potatoes and encourages more ginger, turmeric and garlic. also omega 3s are anti-inflammatory as is advil.

Going gluten free has helped my pain SO much!

I always had pain in both ankles, same degree, and would tell my doc, "this feels different than the rest of my wandering pains from fibro" and she didn't really listen, of course, I noticed after going gluten free the pain is gone.

Woooo! It felt like walking on ankles that were broken. :(
