I've taken the morning after pill, not the abortion pill, but I still wanted to lend you some support. <3

I am feeling a lot better about things this morning. A good night of sleep... and some brandy... really helped. I go in next week for the appointment. So at least it will be over and done with soon enough. I feel like that is a terrible way of dealing with it... But I just need this all to be over.

Thank you for all of the hugs. It never ceases to amaze me how loving everyone on the PPK can be. This is pretty much the most awesome collective of people ever.

it's not a terrible way of dealing with it, please don't let yourself feel that way. the fact that you're dealing with it instead of avoiding it is an indication that you're doing what's right for you, i think. i'm really sorry you have to wait until next week; i know it's not easy to have to put it off.

take it easy on yourself until (and after) your appointment and know that you're supported here!

i'm so sorry you're having such a hard time. i had a medication abortion. it was very early, and i also wanted to do it as quickly as possible. it felt very violating to me to be pregnant and not want to be and there was no question that i wanted an abortion. there's nothing wrong with feeling that way, but be prepared for the clinician you see to be concerned that there may be someone pressuring you into the decision.

i was very worried about pain because i had helped friends through medical abortions before and they each had pretty severe cramping for a few hours. for me, though, probably because it was very early in the pregnancy, it was almost painless (with pain medication, that is). i had a lot of support, and i would even call it a good experience.

do you have a supportive friend who can be at home with you? even if you have to be alone, though, you will be ok. medical abortion is very safe, but you will be able to call a clinician on the phone if you have any concerns. i called a couple times and they were extremely compassionate and helpful. if you can, treat yourself to some snacks and some movies, and plan on taking a day off from everything. one day was all i needed, but i was able to have a few days off just in case.

I just wanted to say that I'm sorry you're going through all of this. Hang in there, it will all be over soon! I'm so glad that these safer and easier options are available to women.

oh I just remembered! one of my good friends works in an abortion clinic, so she would be an awesome person to talk to. Feel free to pm me any questions you have and I can either put you in touch with her, or I can find out and get back to you. and if you come up here for it, I know the nicest Israeli old man Doc who will talk to you about falafel and hummus!
i hope youll find satisfaction in whatever path you choose here, and really there is no right or wrong way of dealing with anything. whatever you do, is whats right for you.

{{{Hugs}}} I've never had an abortion, but I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks, followed by a D & C, which is the same procedure. It was an unpleasant experience, and not one I'd want to repeat; I can well imagine why you'd prefer another approach if that's still an option, and I'm glad you can get it taken care of relatively soon (albeit I'm sure you'd like it to be sooner). I'm sorry that you are going through so many difficult things at once. Hang in there; sometimes the universe just seems to decide to make you "it" for awhile. Hopefully things will improve soon.

I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. It's not an easy decision to make but I'm incredibly grateful the procedure is available. I had a surgical abortion at five weeks. I had no other health issues, so I'm not sure why they didn't offer the pill.They were kind of pushy with anti-choice pamphlets and asked me to look at the ultrasound. Not the most supportive environment, but I have zero regrets.

hey, i know what with the stalking and all you might be hesitant to give out personal info, but if you're comfortable with it, i'd love to send you a little something. i'm posting this in public because i know a few of the mods and also a bunch of other users can vouch for me being real, despite not having many posts on the new forums, and in light of some of the shiitake you've been dealing with it seems somewhat less creepy than sending you a message asking for your address.
