I really want to make this coconut oil lotion. Coconut oil is really good for your skin so I thought I'd try it since I live two inches from the sun. :-p I'd REALLY like to make it w/out the beeswax as I am trying to convert to full veganism... Anyone out there good with making lotions and know what I can sub? Also, what essential oil is best with coconut?

I use soy wax in my products and it works just as well.
Lime essential oil would be awesome with coconut.

I'd recommend looking for japan wax or candelilla wax. As for oils, is there a therapeutic effect you're going for?

I've recently switched to showering at night so DEFINITELY not anything with any sort of awakening or stimulant effect. I love the smell of (good quality) rose oil, but I can't remember the properties of it... I'm not really a huge fan of lavender.

Also, where could I find these waxes? And are there any special ones I need to look for or is it the same wax for candles?

Beeswax, I think, is used as an emulsifier, which allows water and fat to mix. Soya or sunflower lecithin should work!

I would suggest soy wax or olive wax.
