Heck yeah. I love checking myself out in the mirror.

This thread is so awesome.

Today I was practicing hair styles for my upcoming nuptials (in 2 months!) and geez...when I actually put in a bit of time, I have a nice head of hair. Who knew that if you actual take care of it it would look so amazing?

I also was admiring my lips. I have very shapely lips and they do cool things like smile and let food in. Pretty cool stuff, body.

Today, I put in 60 hard miles by myself on my bike. That's not totally unusual, but I hadn't done it in a while, and I forgot how much harder it is to do rides like that alone, rather than with a group. Well, it was super hard (and I made a wrong turn and ended up having to climb back up to the right spot on a 14 - 18% grade, which was the WORST because I was already really tired), but I did it. My body is strong. Particularly my butt.

Wait...14- 18% grade does not even compute. Maybe in part because where I live, the biggest incline I'm likely to encounter is the freeway overpass, but even biking through the Rocky Mountains and the Green and White Mountains, I get to a 9% grade and I'm like, What is this shiitake?! So, I commend you and your butt!

I'm wearing leggings today for the first time in forever. And they look good.

Thank you! 9% is plenty steep. Fortunately, the super steep section was relatively short, but it hurt. I'm a climber, but I'm getting over being sick, and it was 100 degrees, so it was harder than it might have been, mentally as much as physically.

I'm still thinking about your ride, jopa. It sounds so intense --- and so awesome!
I hope you're still enjoying the thrill of having actually done it / feeling like a cycling superhero.

I was complimented (by my partner, not some creepy stranger) on my collarbone, the skin behind my earlobes, and my knees. My knees! I have knobbly, bristly knees that have ingrown hairs and a lot of rough, flaky, dry skin on them. But someone likes them. And you know what? They are pretty amazing. I kneel on the floor a lot, and I crouch, and I keep forgetting my training and getting up directly from crouching which puts some crazy force through your knees, but they're strong and springy and let me do all this without hurting.

Ha, awesome! I have knobby knees too, and they amuse me.

I like my symmetrical moles on each shoulder.
Even though it took my a long time to get used to, I like my waist and hips and thighs.
I like my big, almond shaped eyes.

My parents finally dished out some compliments on my muscle gaining, weight loss progress. It's ok I guess. I've been getting all kinds of compliments at the gym :-)

I've dropped a few pounds in the last few months without really trying and between that and gaining some muscle definition, I am feeling really good about how my body looks at 44. A huge part of that, though, is admiring what I can make it do. I'm swimming faster, cycling more efficiently, and running stronger. Thanks, body, for responding to all that I'm putting you through this year!

I hated my legs for years thinking they were so fat and today I was able to fully appreciate my legs when I biked to my college and back instead of taking the bus.
