I was doing so well, lost a bit of weight over the past couple of months. And now I've plateaued. My appetite has returned with a vengeance. I am terrified about regaining all of the lost weight.

I don't actually belong in here but I would like to whine that I struggle so hard to lose weight when I should. Now, I should be maintaining or slightly gaining due to pregnancy (slightly because I am obese so I'm only supposed to gain like 10 pounds for the whole shebang) and I can't seem to eat enough. My average days are under 1800 calories and that's after a relative spike in appetite. I can't even imagine how bad things were when I could only eat toast and saltines.

I lost four pounds between my 1st and most recent doctor appointments. That's a pound a week! What the hell! Morning sickness can kiss my asparagus. Or hit only when I WANT to lose weight. GRRR.

Been really broke so not getting as much variety in my diet as I would like but I'm still eating alright. I can't afford junk food a significant amount of the time so very little temptation.

I'm due to weigh myself tomorrow. I've been really sick most of this week along with their being a heatwave so I've not walked all that much.

after last week's shiteness plus shark week I had a bit of a heavy weekend, so was expecting a gain last night but I was down 0.5 lbs. I did 3 sp days though in the hope of clawing back a maintain, so I guess that helped.

To those counting calories: Do you find that you are eating the same sorts of things every day and, if so, what are those things? What does a typical day look like?

Down another pound this week, so that's good. I've got a week of work travel coming up though and I'm very nervous. I'll be satisfied if I can maintain this week without any gains.

KililngMoon - I guess my days have looked pretty similar to each other. Lately it's been tofu and veggie scramble for breakfast, some kind of soup for lunch, and then dinner varies (this past week was taco salad with seitan). Snacks are fruit and popcorn. My routine is to cook all the components (soup, tofu scramble, whatever dinner will be) over the weekend and then during the week all I have to do is heat things up. Of course once it's Friday and things are in fifth day of leftovers, I'm usually pretty sick of it. But i try.

Side note - I tried the powdered peanut butter from PB and Co this week and was reasonably pleased. I'd never mistake it for real PB, but with this I can make a 4 point smoothie with unsweetened almond milk +frozen banana + ice + 2 TB oatmeal + 2 TB powdered PB . It satisfies my craving for something sweet and dessert-y after dinner.

Question - are there cookbooks (preferably with nutrition info) you all find useful for healthy meals? I use Appetite for Reduction quite a bit, but wondering what else is out there.

I looked through my (barely used) copy of Low Cal Vegan Comfort Food by Alicia Simpson last night. The main dish recipes don't appeal to me for some reason, but there are some tasty-sounding breakfast and snack recipes in there. There's a breakfast recipe for a crustless quiche lorraine that's 2 WW points per serving that I'd like to try.

The Fat Free Vegan blog is another good resource, but I guess I still prefer cookbooks over blogs.

I have Low Cal Vegan Comfort Food too and I feel the same about it; I've never cooked from it because nothing really jumps out at me. I might try and give it a go anyway.

I think most of my vegan cookbooks have recipes that can be modified to fit in with SW, but I use AFR a lot as well. I do have a couple of slimming world books and they're ok. The latest one is a curry book and there's quite a few vegan recipes in it and loads that can be veganised easily. I made a couple of things from it at the weekend and they were pretty good.

I was doing so well and then got sick. Am I the only one who eats more when I'm ill? Most people I know lose their appetite. Not me.

^same problem.

Also, most people lose weight when they have morning sickness. I gained weight both times. I feel like if you are set to be overweight you react by gaining weight when normal weight people react by losing.

Lost another 1.5lbs to make 10lbs total (despite drinking a lot on Friday and eating rubbiah on Saturday). Also got slimmer of the week so came home with a shopping bag full of plums and cans of tomatoes.

To answer my earlier question about nutrition info in cookbooks- Amazon had a $1.99 sale on the ebook version of The Minimalist Baker earlier this week, so I picked it up. It's not marketed as a healthy or low-cal cookbook but the nutrition info for all the recipes is listed in the appendix. There are a few things that are low-ish in points I'd like to try.

This is so true. I once in my entire life have been too stressed to eat and that was right before the bar exam. Like the day before. Every other situation ever, my response to any feelings is to drown them in food.

I started a workout/healthy eating challenge with my friend and beachbody coach on Sunday. I'm trying really hard, but I guess my whole bored eating/drinking thing has gotten way out of hand. I could not just sit on the couch and watch a movie and not keep desperately wanting to eat or drink something. I was using this coloring app on my Kindle to keep my hands busy, but I still wanted to eat stuff.

I ended up putting some of a veggie/rice noodle dish in a very small bowl, then making a giant bowl of popcorn with as little oil as possible, and ate it one kernel at a time. I don't know why it's so hard all of a sudden. Blurg.

I'm doing 21 Day Fix (the workouts, not the meal plan), and I'm super sore today, but I kind of like it.
