My cup usually seals no matter what when I put it in. Night before last, didn't seal but apparently wasn't an issue as I got to the bathroom in time?? But it didn't seal AGAIN and I was at work. It ended up mostly ok but I felt icky and gross the rest of the day. :(

Are painful periods while on the (combined) pill always a sign of endometriosis? Cramps and pain last for 3 days, starting the day before bleeding. My gynaecologist thinks I have it and wants to change my therapy to some other combined pill with more progesterone, and then to a progesterone only pill. (I'm scared of progesterone only pills because they have to be taken every day at the same time and their typical use failure rate is 8% for the first year. Also, 10 years ago I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries, I have another ultrasound scheduled next month, so I might have to continue to use the combined pill.)

Seriously, if my period doesn't decide to arrive by morning time my body might actually explode. I've never had food cravings so bad AND I am nearly 48hours late. I ate two plates of chow mien this evening and then 20mins later I had a buttered bagel.

I haven't even gotten to that awful migraine part yet. Usually I get that feeling that someone is trying to rip apart my brain the day before it is due so it looks like my period tomorrow either.

Just keep thinking "well now that it is here it will be over soon." Or maybe that is just the case with me. Once day 1 is over I am on the home run because I only get a 3 day period. Makes me wonder why my body makes such a stinking fuss for so damn long before I get it.

boo for all of us!! it took a double dose of migraine meds to get it to kick in, and I took 2 aleve w/ the first relpax and eventually I took 2 bayer migraine too, even though they don't work. at all.

So my period ended up last for two weeks - there was 5-6 days of just spotting in the middle before I finally got a diva-cup worthy amount of blood for three days and it finally ended four or five days ago. I'm sure it was from stress but that's never happened to me before and now I have no idea when to expect my next period - is it going to still come 28-30 days after this last one STARTED or is this really going to throw my cycle off whack?

My mom has had stuff like that happen as a result of stress and it started the next time in relation to what would have been normal from the first start as I understand it from her complaining. And then everything was back to normal after that. I had it happen pretty much the same way as my mom once. I don't even know why I'm in this thread though because I had my ovaries removed years ago (I forget how lucky I am sometimes...).

That happened me before. Turned out I had a ruptured ovarian cyst. I had incredible mood swings with it though. Stress can cause weird things to happen with periods though. I'm assuming that is why mine is now 3 days late.
I had a teeny headache for a bit this morning so hopefully that is the start of something.

Yay! It arrived! It was way less torture than usual. Only the severe case of munchies and bloating were a problem.

I hate that my period starts sloooow, goes several days, and then ends sloooow. The whole process takes at least 7 and often more days to be really DONE. It seems like forever sometimes.

two days late but it's here. and it hurts enough to be nauseating. I ate 5 thin mints and licked the bowl for the hub's bday cake clean. (Batter > Cake)

It arrived after a 5 month hiatus. Jerk. Anyone have any recommendations for dealing with the fatigue? It seems like every month there's at least one day during that week where I'm trying not to pass out on my keyboard at work.

Oh my god, yesterday was... bleh. I bled onto my new shorts despite wearing a tampon and a pad and having changed it about 20 minutes prior. I just got another menstrual cup, but I couldn't get it to pop open so after several attempts I gave up (for now). Will practice more when I'm not bleeding a river.
Steph, I don't know if this is possible for you where you work, but I find that lying down or napping even just for 10 minutes helps TREMENDOUSLY. Sometimes I would go sit on the toilet, set an alarm on my phone and snooze for a few, no joke. Otherwise, take drugs that contain painkillers AND caffeine and stay hydrated so you don't get the shakes.

Sucks when you have someone you've been dating for not very long over and then awful cramps hit you and you end up crying and taking a bath at 3am and lying on the bathroom floor trying not to throw up!

Ugh, that sounds terrible. :(
That reminds me of one time I was waiting for a bus with my (now ex) boyfriend... I got these excruciating cramps out of nowhere and ended up lying down on the bus stop bench gritting my teeth and trying not to puke while he ran off and found some painkillers at a gas station. I felt really sexy that day!

isn't it terrible when you think that yesterday was the Day of Cramps and Overwhelming Flow only to find out when you wake up that actually, *today* is the Day of Cramps and Overwhelming Flow, yesterday was just a warm up?

oof strawberryrock, that's super awkard! Is it at least a person who has experienced awful menstrual cramps before? Cuz that would at least be marginally better.
((hugs)) torque. That sounds like the most evil period!
