For some reason I pictured it shorter in the back and longer in the front; stacked-ish... I don't even know why I typed that, because I have no reason to be picturing it in my head at all.

Louzilla, I think blue would look great on you. Or, you could have rainbow hair to match the famous gay cake!

The store didn't have the blue I wanted and I didn't feel like driving all the way to the mall, so I got more vampire red - which comes out as the bright pink you see at the ends. Haven't gotten around to dying it yet. I would LOVE to do rainbow hair one day, but that would take SO MUCH dye and time and energy! Adding it to the hair bucket list.

I love blunt bangs, but something in me is kind of wanting to transition to a more side swept bang.

I like the blunt bangs. They look badass. At least as badass as bangs can look I guess. Also I think they suit your face.

nah, they both look great. if you want change, then change. it's just hair and you can always change it again tomorrow!

I like the blunt bangs on you too, pp. Another option is the longer fringe-y bangs that you can wear straight or side-swept. Kinda like what I have going on in my avatar pic. I can wear them down and still see because of the texture, or sweep them over for a less "badass" look.

And here's another vote for going shorter, poopiebitch. I grew up with my sister in cosmetology school/being a stylist. So I got used to a change every time I got a cut. My stylist now loves that - he gets to be more creative! Of course, like tofulish, my hair grows fast so I figure if I don't love it, it will be different soon.

ETA: with 6 weeks growth, I can no longer wear them straight down - completely covers my eyes.

So I need advice. I cut my hair really short in June and it has been growing as it wanted to ever since. Now I feel like I really need to trim it a bit and into more of a hairstyle. I want to keep it short.

I'm thinking I should probably keep the front/bangs a bit longer, maybe even let them grow out a bit more, because I have a crazy whirl in the front that makes it look crazy when any shorter. Otherwise I don't know, I probably want it shorter in the back.

What do you think?

( I know, I should get some wax in order to not having it look like a fur-hat).

pannkaken, I think you should get it cut really short in the back and keep it longer in the front. That would look great!

Resurrecting this thread because I really need a hair cut! This picture is old but it is pretty close to how my hair looks now (and it's hilarious):

I don't want to go super short (like a bob), but I want something that's maybe shoulder length, so I can still pull it back when I want. Something funky would be cool because I'm also going to dye my hair red!

Help?

Ooh, b.vicious, I think you'd look fab with a fringy bob variant... You know, longer in the front (so you can re-style it whatever way you want, and maybe cut with a blade so it's not too boring?), and a bit shorter in the back if you dare... Trying to find a picture...

ETA: I suck at google image today. Basically, I'm talking about a mixture of all of these (no straight fringe but a layered, more frayed-looking one, longish in the front, not too short in the back - maybe nape of the neck, maybe even a bit longer?) ---

BTW, I'm trying to find a vegan hair dye that will make it possible to go back to my favourite style, including teal streaks... I know my dye back then was Schwarzkopf Igora 100-33 ("Petrol Groove"), and I'm looking for something similar that won't wash out as easily as most really colourful dyes, and it has to be vegan.

Hmm, that could work, Phoenix. I wonder if my stylist could create a messy look with my hair. It's really, really straight and I don't like to wear a lot of product (if any) so it could be a challenge.

No way. That is an awesome cut! It will look fantastic on you! Also, I think platinum blonde works super well with that cut.
