So excited to hear about your races, MT!
Studio that sounds TOUGH!
It's been super hot here. I woke up early to get 7.3 miles in.

Half an hour run on the cliff top, in the sunshine, before school. Felt good. I've also just signed up for The 5k Race for Life which is next Sunday.

2-mile tempo run on the treadmill today. It has been so abominably rainy lately!

Ugh, my allergies have been killing me lately so I've had to take some additional days off. Oh well! Hopefully I'll be back at it tomorrow.

Hope you feel better alice!
I had 13 miles planned for this morning but it was a TOUGH one. Not sure why...legs felt heavy, tummy didn't feel good, just felt tired the whole way. Once I got back and uploaded my data I realized my pace wasn't really off, but it sure felt like it when I was running. Just one of those days I guess. Onward and upward.

I thought I would share these because they are forking hilarious. They're from the 10k I ran last weekend. "I'll never know what happiness means again," is what I'm imagining I'm thinking here: And it would appear I've forgotten how to breathe here:

Urgh! I haven't been out since monday. It was so rainy the next days, and then yesterday I was super lazy and didn't go even though the weather was good. Excuses, excuses, excuses. Back into it, girl! I want to run the 6km of the Bavarian Run on July 8th. And on the 19th there is the company run so I can't slack off right now!!!

Alice thanks for sharing the pics, I don't think they are bad at all! Usually I look like some sort of shuffling zombie-like swamp beast in mine.

Thanks so much for sharing your race pics, alice1drland! I take notoriously bad race photos. For my marathon I tried really hard to be conscious of the photographers and I'm flashing huge smiles. Except one. I look utterly miserable. It's hilarious!

Hah, thanks guys. I am seriously considering smiling like a pained maniac during my next race. That plan cannot possibly go awry, amirite? I am terrified of my inevitable marathon photos. "SOMEONE END MY LIFE RIGHT HERE," is how I envision it looking.

Word of advice on race photos: when you cross the finish line don't look down at your watch! I always want to capture my race to the exact second and have been caught too many times, head down, poking at my watch. (Not that I would look good in that finish line pic anyway!)

I was too angry with the girl who decided to stop and eat a cupcake in the last tenth of a mile to do that. Where did you even get that?!

Fabulous run by the river this morning. A great day to be out. It's light enough at 4:30 am to be out these days but I have not ventured out that early yet.

In the interest of avoiding overdoing it (since I've only been at this a week or two) 5k in 33 minutes yesterday. Was fun. Gonna be doing the Pride & Remembrance Run in Toronto on June 30th with some friends who are also pretty new to the whole running thing, which is 5k, so it should be super fun.

It's super hot here these days, but I managed a short run yesterday. Let's keep it up!

Yesterday the vegan vulcan and I ran the Estes Park 5k! The altitude damn near killed me-- I live at around 5,500 feet, and the race was at 7,500. I placed 2/16 in my division, 5/56 among women, and 15/106 overall! A couple of photos: vegan vulcan and I pre-race: Me crossing the finish line, headless: Mumbling something about needing water Also: I'm starting my marathon training program today!

Great pictures, alice and chop-socky! In one of my official race photos, there's a guy in a top hat pissing in the bushes right next to me. The sad part is that i don't remember passing him. You'd think a pissing, top hat wearer would be hard to miss even in a race-induced fog.

I didn't want to get up this morning (at 5:30) but so glad I did! Did my regular 4-mile route and saw a hawk sitting on the ground. It was about 5 feet away from me and it just looked at me. I was like, what's up, hawk? I sat there with it for a couple minutes and then had to keep running. An awesome way to start the day!
