Went swimming today for the first time in like 10 years. Did 1200 m. It felt really good.

Last night, 40 minute run along the waterfront (I sure do love this city) and tonight is a 1600m swim with emphasis on form and arm strength (ugh, paddles.)

We had a record snowfall yesterday (uuuggh!) so today was 8km on on treadmill at the gym.

I've managed to swim a few times this week to try & get myself back into exercise after a bad bought of flu.
Today I rode for an hour, ran for 25 minutes & swam for 10 minutes.

Today's a day off, but this week I went running twice (5k) and did two 75-minute moksha flow classes (I had company earlier in the week and so couldn't do as much) but I'm pretty pleased with myself. I'm trying to work up to 3x running and 3x moksha flow every week.

18 mile run. Same course as three weeks ago, 6 minutes faster!

I refuse to believe that it's because of the ice bath afterwards because that was miserable and I never, ever want to do it again.

I ran a 13km this morning. It was lovely. Snowy and cool (cold) but the pace was great and I ran with some of my running buddies from our marathon training group.
1.5hr yin-yang yoga class is on the schedule for this evening.

I'm going to the gym soon for an upper body workout. At a new gym! I'm scared, but I hope I like it because it's just around the corner from where I live and it's open every day from 5 am to midnight.

5km tempo today. I had planned to do a longer, easier paced run but I felt like running fast instead. Felt good.

Lower body workout. Took a lot longer than usual because the machines and stuff don't work the same way at the new gym.

~7 mile bike ride to work, 7 mile ride home, with a vague possibility of an extra 3 miles or so. Easy day since yesterday was stadium climbing and tomorrow is hill running. (plus bike ride to work)

i'm trying to get back into swimming shape after recovering from an injury. i probably swam about 1800 yards with an emphasis on drill and kick, but i was really proud of myself for a mini-set of 4x100 on 1:30.

You should be proud! I have two speeds: slow and a little faster than slow. I'll never make a 1:30 send-off, that's for sure!

monkeytoes wrote: You should be proud! I have two speeds: slow and a little faster than slow. I'll never make a 1:30 send-off, that's for sure! that is yards, so i think that'd be around 1:40 for meters? i've been working a lot on my long axis rotation, so i try to keep one arm out in front of me as long as possible-- that helps my hips open and it also helps create a faster turnover. these freestyler paddles help a lot with showing you how to keep stability in that forward arm as well with having a deep enough catch to aid the speed and strength of your stroke. so anyway, it's kinda like i'm doing less muscle work and more body rotation. i dunno if any of that makes any sense. i realize this is one of those things that probably doesn't transcend into writing very well.
