Ouch. My abs are sore from a combination of running, climbing, and stenght training over three days. It wasn't even much work, but boy it hurts just by laying myself down into bed.

My back is really tight today. My lower back hurt after my swim yesterday (lots of kicking, which tightens it up) and now my lats and obliques hurt too from strength training class last night.

Aaand now that I totally overdid it on the speedplay, my legs are killing me. Quads and hamstrings are hating me right now.

Sort of workout related. After yoga class last night I came home and decided I was going to practice some poses we didn't get to in class. Whilst doing a tripod headstand my legs gathered too much momentum and I flipped over and wacked the center of my back on the hard edge of my boyfriend's suitcase. Super-fun bruise.

I'm trying to get into a fitness routine. I didn't work out for working out's sake this weekend, but I was on a department trip to Philadelphia. three solid days of walking around the city; I have no clue how many miles I covered, but it was a lot. The final day I had the joy of carrying a backpack full of laundry, food, and homework along with me, and didn't realize that one of the museums I was going to didn't have a bag check (ugh!!!) So, I had the joy of not only lugging my bag from my hotel to the museum (Eastern State Penitentiary, for anyone who's curious), but then around the museum with me for the next four hours, then walking a mile and a half to a museum where I could finally put my bag down, spending a few hours on my feet there, then trekking to the bus station. I should work out again today, maybe bike or do some jump-roping, but my back and shoulders are so freaking sore!
But I can't stop exercising. Once I lose the routine, it's so hard to get back into it...

Well, I don't do a whole lot of physical activity when it's cold out, and when it suddenly became warm recently, I jumped in a little too quickly (which, sadly, didn't even do much for me at first—I thought I was taking it slow!) and had sore abs/ribs for a couple days. Like, so bad I couldn't get up and go to class.
Last weekend, I started doing an exercise video and during the first three minutes of warm-ups, I was doing everything I saw the trainers doing and with the same amount of force and (which isn't much!), and I got tennis elbow. Probably the worst I've had it, but usually I only feel a brief pain after working in a warehouse. It wasn't so great this time... Kind of embarrassing, too, given how I had to stop exercising so soon. Guess I have to build up more arm strength and stretch more.

I and am doing a "let's ignore the routine and do things I like that are thematically similar instead" variant of Stronglifts.
Consequently, my legs can go fork themselves right now.

Well, nothing's terribly sore except my left calf, which feels tight, but I haven't had a Charley Horse yet. I used to get those often in the middle of the night. Great way to wake up!

Shoulders/pecs from a billion (OK, 45) pushups yesterday. Add neck stiffness from bike ride today. I need a massage!

Sore since Wednesday (added to it yesterday) from working on strength training my muscles and not just running or ellipticaling. Paracetamol won't even touch this. Boo.

Woke up on Friday with a pulled muscle/sore rib/something weird and worked out anyway, hoping it would loosen up. Felt destroyed all weekend. Now it only hurts when I lie on my back or move from sitting to standing (or vice versa). Not enough Tiger Balm in the world...

So, is Tiger Balm helpful? I need something as paracetamol isn't helping. I was told to keep active and moving and that would help, but my muscle soreness is crazy. I hope to get some cardio in tomorrow and then stretch well.

Once again my abs are hurting. We went to a fitness parcour yesterday and it was nothing too hard, but the combination of running and exercises left me sore. Plus I sprinted down the path with no warm up while fooling around, and I sort of stretched my back legs as well. Ouch.

Thanks, alan, I'll keep that in mind. I'm surprisingly not as bad today and managed to get some cardio in. I hope my muscles are getting used to the extra work!

meggs, when i had to rebuild my knee i was soooooo sore that i tried all sorts of stuff. all the aromatics (tiger balm, the menthol things, etc) and then recently my husband brought home one that is non-menthol but like a painkiller cream (diclofenac sodium or diclofenac potassium, iirc this is actually aleve or something but widely used here in brazil) and it is AMAZING. no burning, no stinking.
back on topic I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SORE did my first serious upper body workout in years. oooooooooow!

In Saturday's bootcamp, we did runs up and down the bleacher stairs and a lot of upper body work. Sunday, I raked the dead, dry grass from the front yard, then took a 40-min walk down/up a steep hill. Today, my shoulders, knees, and quads/butt are soooooo sore. I have bootcamp tonight, then I'm coming home to a warm soak in an epsom salts-filled tub. Can't wait.

I did two ten minute cardio workout videos two days ago and my legs/butt are super sore. Especially my cranky knee that my dad is convinced is "a growth spurt".

My quads burn every time I walk up stairs (and I live in a three story house!)

I think I'm going to finally buy some arnica tomorrow. I hadn't realized how bruised my knee was getting... definitely need to get off my butt and make a lighter hoop.

My poor, aching feet. Running downhill is great in terms of getting some speed (and thus getting some time banked against your race goal) without taxing your heart rate/breathing much, but I'm convinced your feet take more of a pounding. My quads and glutes know they did something yesterday, but only my feet really hurt.
