so i had my race on saturday, and it was pretty tough going in places but a lot of fun. i was only really racing against myself, to be honest- i'd said that i'd be happy if i managed 2 laps of the course beforehand but i actually got 3 in, so i won (in my head anyway!)
here's a chest cam video of a lap (edited a bit) that someone made...
I'm doing my first time trial on Sunday. I'm going to be TERRIBLE.

Video looks cool.
You guys will not believe what I did, I only have one pair of cold weather shows (booties don't cut it when it's below freezing!) so I switched my cleats from spd that I use on my mountain bike to eggbeater which I used on my road bike. I went mountain biking the day after I swapped them out and completely forgot about it.

It's odd/cool that my body will tell me if there's something wrong with my bike-I had to get my front fender fixed and my tires needed air and my brakes were too loose and my entire ride home was miserable until I got to the bike shop and then it was amaaazing afterwards.

Can't decide if I want to do a quick (really quick - 20 minutes!) circuit race tonight. It's rainy, and I have a big weekend ahead of me, but it's also hilly, so it's conceivable I could get on the podium...

^ Did you race?!
Did The London Classic today which is a cobble-fest homage to Paris-Roubaix. Even took a tumble to make it all the more authentic, cracked my helmet (yikes) and bent my rear mech nooooooooo. But well done Cancellara!
I did! And I shouldn't have, because I crashed! I'm okay, but it really forked up my riding over the weekend. :(

The right shift lever (SRAM) broke right off. Luckily, I am dating a bike mechanic who found a replacement lever, and took the whole mechanism apart and was able to replace the lever, without me having to buy whole new shifters.
I'm going to be taking it pretty easy this week so I can race on the weekend.
Also, Tegaderm is a miracle, but boy is it gross.

I'm going to hold off on 11 speed until more people adopt it. A teammate got burned pretty bad at a race last month because she had it, flatted, and then couldn't use any of the wheels in the wheel car because they were all 10s.
That said, I am probably going to buy a supersix evo soon. (and maybe a carbon cx frame...)

Yah I wouldn’t jump to it right now but wouldn’t mind getting 11sp demo bits from a shop
Ive always liked the supersix’s, but don’t know much about the evos. The road/mtb team I race for now just picked up Cannodale so id be intrigued if you do pick one up. Also I thought you just got a new cross rig?

I really want either a Ridley fenix or helium but there aren't any stores around here that have the helium for me to try out.
Do the road Ridleys have odd sizing like the cx frames?
I keep getting dropped. I'm not putting out as much power as the bigger girls (so, 99% of them), and I'm feeling frustrated.

Yeah. I actually am just a lot smaller than a lot of the other girls, and a lot of the races have just been flat circuits that favor powerful riders/sprinters. I'm good on hills, but the fact that my watts/kg is pretty good doesn't matter much when it's pancake flat. I need to increase my threshold, because as it is now, I'm above my VO2 max just sitting in with the pack. Also, the cat 4 ladies are insane here. The race was 24 mph.
