Does anyone out there do high intensity interval training? I've done it sort of off and on for a while but had a really excellent work-out today and want to incorporate it into my life more. What routines do you like?

fitnessblender on youtube has some great HITT routines. One word...TABATA!!! And while they are my personal nemesis, mountain climbers and burpees always have to happen in there ;)

I think jillian michaels six week six pack fits this category. I get a really good workout from it and it's free on amazon prime, but it's also pretty cheap to buy.

HIIT is one of the few ways I can run on a treadmill in the winter without losing my mind. If I'm doing shorter work intervals (like 30 sec or less) I keep the treadmill going at the work pace and then just jump on the sides for the rest, because speeding up/slowing down the treadmill takes so long. It sounds like jumping on the sides is complicated and would be dangerous, but I'm horribly uncoordinated and if I can do it, anyone can.

Yes all day long to this. I like to do 2 minutes at a relaxed pace and then super fast for a min. Sometimes I'll do this pattern on the elliptical, where I'll go for 2 min at resistance 5 and then 1 min as hard as I can at 10.

HIIT is great for general conditioning & so much easier to incorporate into a strength training regime than steady state cardio i.e. 'SSCV'.

In the summer I run track sprints; in the winter when the track is too wet/slippy I do HIIT on the rower/spin-bike/treadmill, generally 30 secs flat out then 30 secs rest for 10 minutes. Then try not to vomit afterwards.

I used to do mostly only HIIT. The workouts always felt hard and worth it. I built some strength and it was fun! I followed bodyrock.tv back when it was a thing. I'm pretty skeptical of thedailyhiit.com but haven't looked at it too much.

My gym started a new half hour class recently called 'Overdrive'

Its 20 seconds of high intensity cardio, the 10 seconds rest. Do this 8 times, then a minute rest. Do all that 4 times.

Is that HILT? The exercises are like burpees, crazy types of jacks, mountain climbers, shuffling/sprinting etc.

I feel like I get a whole lot out of a half an hour of exercise. It's tough, but fun. Good class to take before my barre class (which I don't think is challenging at all unless I am super warmed up)

A workout friend posted that she and a bunch of people are doing something called #deckaday which is doing a deck of cards workout every day for the month. (Assign a calisthenic exercise to each suit and do the # prescribed by the card)

I find those boring so I'm going back and doing an old bodyrock workout every day, starting on sunday. I accidentally destroyed my lifting shoes while I was at it, but they were falling apart anyways, so whatever. I know where to get converses anyways so I'll get them tomorrow.
