My playlists are wearing out and I find that a lot of the songs get passed on from playlist to playlist. I need suggestions!! I think I lean towards catchier, up-beat music during exercise so I feel motivated. What do you guys listen to while breaking a sweat??

Here's my current work-out playlist:

Me Gusta Ser Una Zorra -VulpeSS
Beat On The Brat - Ramones
Electronic Renaissance- Belle and Sebastian
No Pasaran - F'd Up
Where Next Columbus - Crass
I just Wanna Puke On the Stereo - Frumpies
Idle Hands - Murder City Devils
Isolation - Joy Division
Crusades - F'd Up
Sugarbaby - Crystal Stilts
Punk Rock Girl - Dead Milkmen
Peacock and Wing - Fresh and Only's
Girlfriend - Ty Segall
I Can't Pay You to Disappear - Thee Oh Sees

I listen to whole albums because I go for long runs, but anything upbeat by Beck (Modern Guilt or Guero), the Kinks, Bjork (Volta), and Blonde Redhead is what I've been listening to lately.

I really only do yoga, but I'll usually put on some kirtan music or maybe Dead Can Dance or This Mortal Coil or something like that.

I work out to drum and bass, the fast, happy stuff eg. London Elektricity or a friend's mixes.

I usually listen to whole albums...mostly fast paced things - punk and ska are my favourites. The things i'll go to first when exercising are NOFX, Propaghandi, Bear vs Shark, Death from Above 1979, Gogol Bordello, The Bronx, Mclusky, Reel Big Fish, and lately the Pixies too. Having the right music makes such a big difference to how hard I can work!

Pretty much exclusively Weezy, Boosie, and Hurricane Chris. It's really important to me to keep it local.

Usually the guiltiest of guilty pleasures (Like A G6, Your Love Is My Drug, California Gurls).

Since last week, exclusively to the new Digitalism single "Blitz":

I like a mixed bag of mostly heavy stuff: metal; rap-metal; heavier trip-hop and drum & bass. The funkier stuff I enjoy listening to makes me want to sing and dance so I lose focus.

haha, yes! I always feel like a nut when I'm in a crowded gym because I'm smiling and mouthing out words while running (and at very special times I will do a discreet fist pump).

I was really proud of my last running mix and now I just realized that I forgot to move my playlists from my old computer before wiping it. Poop.
Anyway, I remember it having ELO, Dio, a Dalek track, some other hip hop, some New Order, Iron Maiden, Cheap Trick, a big mix of things. "Holy Diver" was a great song when I was starting to run out of steam on long runs. I could always sing along and "jump on the tiger!"

I work out to pretty much anything, depending on my mood. I'll listen to classical, drum n bass, rap, hip hop, stuff that is current (Gaga, Katy Perry- whatever genre that kind of music is).... Sometimes I have playlists, but other times I just hit "shuffle" and FF if I don't like a song that comes on.

All sorts of stuff, whatever i'm in the mood for but when I'm on the cross trainer I need 90s dance and I absolutely HAVE to have never surrender by 2 Unlimited to get me through the last 4.5 minutes. It's cheesy as hell but it gets me through when I'm knackered already.

Oh, me too. The poppiest of pop does lots of good. But when I need a change of pace, I'll listen to a random album of a scandinavian metal group (I just pick them off of my boyfriend's shelf- I couldn't name anything off the top of my head).

I need music to make me feel either giddy or powerful to keep my brain preoccupied so that I don't stop running after 15 minutes.

Same here. The Hospital podcast is great for this. That or friends' old mixes.

I ran to some Justin Bieber the other day. I remain unashamed.

I listen to fast, angry stuff when I'm doing weights. Lately it's been a lot of Dillinger Escape Plan. And always Converge. Makes me feel like I'm building up my guns to go destroy things.

And I listen to catchier, high energy stuff when I run. Stuff that I kind of want to dance along to. For the last week I've been listening to Coerce. I like to listen to albums the whole way through, but ones that vary a bit so that I don't get sick of it. Their album is awesome for that.

My go-to workout music is the Arctic Monkeys, but I've also been known to listen to The Dresden Dolls, Lady Gaga and Panic! at the Disco. I tend to limit myself to music I know will get me pumped but also shunned by the people I work out with. (That's why headphones exist!)

I need to d/L more of the podcasts and get the latest Hospital Mix, but nothing will ever beat HospitaL MIx 5, imo.

Any suggestions from either of you, I'm listening to the same stuff over and over and while I love it, sometimes I'm in the mood for something new!

Yes, I find it hard not to sing or mouth the words to some songs!

It varies. I went through a long period of mostly DRI and Slayer, lately it's been podcasts, because they distract me from realizing I'm stuck on an elliptical in front of "that's so raven" AGAIN.
