I don't have my playlists in front of me, but I frequently use tracks from the What a Girl Wants soundtrack, stuff from Katharine McPhee's first album, Jump Around by House of Pain, any poppy 80s or dance music, Mercy by Duffy, The only thing that Looks Good on Me Is You by Bryan Adams. I'll throw in some Train or John Mayer for slower/resistance songs on the elliptical.

I downloaded the new britney album just for the gym, because I think it's pretty shiitake but it's perfect for the cross-trainer. I usually listen to either britney, ke$ha, gaga or 90s music when I'm at the gym. I need cheesey crepe to listen to to motivate me!
I think i've said it already in this thread but 90s dance is the best music for the cross-trainer. I ALWAYS without fail listen to Never Surrender by 2 Unlimited for the last 4.5 mins of my cross-trainer routine, it never fails to get me to the end.

Lately I've been listening to the Thermals and Devo while running. Titus Andronicus is nice too but there are a lot of spoken bits in the songs that slow me down some if I'm not paying attention.

I listen to electronic stuff like the Cruxshadows or harder electronic music like Angelspit. Or I listen to some Psychobilly stuff like The Koffin Kats or Horropops. Anything that has an intensity to it to keep me going.

This thread is super useful! I need to refresh my running music but I don't know any of the bands you guys mentioned. I might check out the new Britney Spears though...
Currently I run on "Queen - Greatest Hits". I tried to run on the Abba Greatest Hits but ended up nearly singing every song out loud. The Blues Brothers soundtrack is great but too fast for me. (I wonder if anyone will ever speak to me again after this confession...)

I know it's cheesy as balls but at the end of my run I put on Moves Like Jagger for the cool down walk, it's followed by I Wanna Go by Britney on my gym playlist. It is so dancey I find myself dancing and singing on the treadmill. although that is probably more to do with the relief of my run being over, haha.

After I stumbled upon jog.fm, I downloaded an MP3 BPM analyzer. Jog says for the pace I generally aim for, I should listen to tracks around 183 beats per minute. Out of the thousands of tracks on my MP3 player, a whopping three come in at more than 183 BPM. I have plenty in the 150-170 range, though.

I work out to some serious dark and heavy drum and bass and dubstep. Either that or some badmotorfinger era soundgarden :)

I've started listening to podcasts again on the dance-o-tron cross-trainer. I find it sort of regulates my running and time goes faster because I'm not skipping tracks haphazardly every minute and a half.

Ran to Adam Lambert yesterday. Went pretty well so I think I'll try him again. I like looking at the data from my Nike+ thing after because I can see exactly where each song starts as I slow down and speed up. I should really make the effort to find some of good speeds for me some time.

i have been using mixes based on BPM because i am really, really precarious and lazy.
But I have found if I listen to "The District Sleeps Alone" by the Postal Service I can have an out of body experience on the treadmill.

I discovered the best song for the cross-trainer yesterday... I'm Too Sexy by Right Said Fred. BAHAHAHAHA. In came on random on my iPod and it was great singing along to that while being completely unsexy and sweaty. I was singing "I'm too sexy for this gym too sexy for this gym..."
