Anyone here has tried or is currently to doing some Crossfit?

I've been doing it only once a week (I've the other days of the week already packed with running, krav maga and weight lifting) for the last 3 months, I find it fun and challenging, and I think I've already gained some agility, flexibility and improved my posture.

Has anyone else over here tried it? ore thinking about trying it?
I would love to read some other people impressions.

I tried it about three years ago, and really enjoyed it. I was very careful about choosing which gym to join, however, because of the problems rampant within the crossfit training community. My gym was run by women and a lot of time was spent focused on safety and correct form. I had to do a six week intro class before I could join the regular classes. They also stressed the importance of going at your own pace and not overdoing it.

I had to stop when my autoimmune disease (ankylosing spondylitis) started flaring up. This was before my diagnosis, so I thought I was just pushing myself too hard. In any case, I'm very prone to injury due to the AS and hyper-flexibility issues, so I probably won't ever go back.

Miyoko Schinner used to do cross-fit! I think she's too busy now to do it.

I did Crossfit and it is how I screwed up my shoulder. I personally believe that you should never do Olympic lifting for time. Also the kipping pull-ups and the Crossfit kb swing is prone to injury without benefit over a RKC swing. There is comraderie that often keeps you going but I personally would never do it again

Well I'm lucky to be in a Box where the coaches are all the time correcting our technique, and encouraging us to use lower weights (or more simpler exercises), and push to find a steady rhythm from the beginning to the end.

I'm not sure how things are in other boxes.
