Someone gave us zumba for the wii! My husband is using it. Not me. I did zumba once a few years ago and I planned to go back. I even got zumba shoes! Then I never went back. But we just started Jazzercise again and now I can use my zumba shoes! I like jazzercise better anyway. It seems like more variety in the routines. But maybe that's just the class I took.

Super back into the Activate DVD - thinking of trying the hour-long Ripped program next.

O.M.G. I just did the Ripped program, and it was SUCH FUN. Beto is awesome (as is his outfit for the second part of the program), and I really loved the chair routine and the rock'n'roll finale. No exercise program has ever held my interest like this. Super motivated! Zumba flicks the weasel! :D

Borrowed (read: inherited) my BF's dumbbells since I don't have toning sticks. Used the second-smallest weights (1.25 kg) in place of the sticks, and the workout was AWESOME. I sweated a minor ocean, too.

I'm so happy this thread exists! Why do I never think to check here before?
Some of best friends in the Bay Area are zumba instructors, and I laugh so hard when I do zumba with them. (Pretty much, it's why I started.) Here, it took me until February '12 (I moved here February '11) to figure out that there's an AMAZING studio just outside of town, only zumba and labooca, taught by Marlon Connor & his students - so not only is it crazy intense, it's crazy hilarious. So, so good.

Abelskiver wrote: Thanks for the feedback guys! Yeah I don't have a microphone either :( the old gym owner (although a lovely person) was sorta stingy with buying equipment and the new one I guess figures we don't need it since I never had one? I dunno, maybe she expects me to buy it? She keeps hinting that I need to buy an Ipod but umm yeah can't afford that lady so buy me one to use if its that important.
Back to topic, really appreciate your input. I want to be sure my "students" enjoy themselves and sometimes when I ask them this stuff I think they are concerned with hurting my feelings. Do you use facebook to connect to your students? One of my instructor friends has a zumba page for herself and regularly does fb polls to see what people like or want. 1-2 times a year she uses a google form (emailed to her student list) and asks for more structured feedback. Maybe that kind of approach would work for you? I think it's a little easier if you know your answers are semi-anonymous and you can think about them from home.
