Got a Fitbit Charge HR for Christmas! So now I'm turning into that crasshole who's obsessed with his Fitbit... I only have one complaint which is that my wrist is on the largest end of what will fit a size small, but the Fitbit itself is still substantially wider than my wrist, so possibly that was a poorly conceived design decision.

Adding you all because friends are great. If you get a request from Eric M. that's me (https://www.fitbit.com/user/3YSYZK)

Same issue here! :/
(mine's not an HR, though - not sure if that makes a difference)

For those who have recently friended me (Laura B.), I would like to point out that I've been having some health problems and I normally get a lot more steps than I have been lately!

I added you both back! I haven't really done any stepping lately and haven't exercised so I'll be trying to get back into it.

Does anyone else bother with calorie counting/use the fitbit meal planning features? That is what I am struggling with the most.

I also downloaded Wokamon to use with my fitbit.

I want to use the calorie counter but I eat out so much when I'm in NYC that it makes it difficult.

I want to use it, but I've been using Cronometer so long that I'm opposed to losing all that existing data. Also I don't want to input all my recipes again.

I've just linked my Fitbit account with Cronometer so it imports calorie burn. I think Cronometer has a much more comprehensive and also intuitive system for calorie counts and meal planning.

I don't get how the Fitbit calculates distances. I went for a 3.2 mile run (Google Maps) last night and it decided I had instead run a very slow 2.13 miles. So I calibrated the stride length according to the site instructions. And now this morning I walked the dog 2.1 miles and it's given me 2.72??

I refuse to trust the FitBit's measure of distance. It's so weird.

I also link FitBit to Cronometer (even though I don't use it very often). I like that not only does the calorie burn transfer, but so does sleep!

I kind of wish I'd gotten the one with GPS too.

People with Charge HRs, how long does it last after charging? It said it should last about five days but I'm not even getting 48 hours out of mine. I turned off the continuous sync as soon as I got it so it wouldn't drain my phone.

There are known issues with continuous sync, and the first few days you actually touch it and play with it alot so it dies faster (imo). I get roughly 5 days out of mine,

I've been getting about 60 hours but also I've been messing with it constantly. As BAD said it will probably improve once it's not a shiny new toy anymore...

I get about 5 days but I don't continuous sync (even though it's set up to do so; I should probably figure that out!)

If you still have issues with a short battery life, customer service is really good about replacing devices if you contact them.

I wish the battery lasted longer. I take mine off to charge, then I forget about it for a week. My husband says they see this reflected in a lot of people's data, so obviously it's a big problem for them!

I have the Charge (not HR) and I get way more than 5 days - maybe 10 to 12 days? I disabled the continuous sync as well as the wrist flick.

I read that Fitbit counts stairs through a combination of steps + atmospheric pressure changes. It would explain why it goes NUTS when I walk in bad weather.

Yah the stairs counting is weird, I've tired actually walking my stairs to get the numbers up it seems to sometimes take 2 runs to count 1. Other times walking outside (on a relatively flat area) I get 13.

I want to upgrade to a new one that counts stairs at some point. They sent out an email of a super fancy one that's "coming soon" that seems really cool, but it kind of looks like they're trying to make it look like an Apple watch.

Yeah my stair counter is way off. And my sleep logging keeps failing which is annoying because I track that to help gauge the tie in between sleep and mood.

I saw that email and it made me wish they'd had them in time for Christmas because I would have gotten that instead.

Apparently, when I take off my thing for things like dishes, a bubble bath, etc. . . it thinks I'm sleeping.

I'm over Fitbit support. My tracker isn't logging my sleep and even after I've done everything they told me they are now telling me once again to reset it. Which I've done at least five times now. I wrote they better give me new advice or replace it except I was nicer.

Does anyone have one of the stands for your bike that makes it stationary? I was looking at some on Amazon, but I just...do those things work? I just keep imagining myself accidentally riding through my TV or something.

I don't, but my stepdad is a triathlete and has one. The one he has replaces the back tire, so no worries of riding off!
