New Fitbit products announced today! My husband made the sleep tracker. He is so nervous!

That's so cool! The new Fitbits look really awesome! My old Garmin is on it's last legs and so I'm intrigued by the new Fitbit with GPS.

My Up finally died its last death. It was my third one under warranty. They would no longer replace it. Definitely do not recommend Up!

I have a MisFit which I love.

Good luck to your husband Couroupita! The fitbit is wildly popular. I'm sure people will appreciate his efforts!

How does the fitbit sleep function compare with the Up? I've had similar up disasters as ~Sz, but I feel like I can't live without the smart alarm at this point, it has really changed my life.

He said the sleep functions are comparable and that they don't have the smart alarm (and no timeline for it) because something about sleep cycle tracking through movement is not scientific enough? And that they will probably correlate with heart rate at some point but not now.

~sz, thanks!

I guess I do miss the inactivity vibrate from Up, but misfit is just so cute and shiny that I love it. And, not having to take it off to sync. Plus, I'm just mad at Up.

Couro -- I hope Mr. Pita is breathing easy today! Fitbit is excellent, everyone who I know who has one loves it.

Maybe I'll eventually switch to wearing something else during the day and wearing my Up at night. I mean, whatever, if the Smart Alarm isn't scientifically accurate, I couldn't say, the thing has revolutionized my getting up in the morning and seems pretty darn good at waking me up at just the right moment.

Oh yeah, sorry I wasn't trying to dis the smart alarm. I like the idea and use an app on my iphone that does the same thing and seems to work great. From what I've been told FB is just really conservative in what features they offer if they don't have a lot of data and redundancies to back it up.

I do really hate the Up in various ways, though. I'm just really, really, really, really attached to my smart alarm. Really.

For Christmas my bf got me a Garmin Vivofit. I really think it's gonna help me stay motivated to move more during the day. I especially like the red lines that appear to tell you that you've been inactive for too long and to get off your asparagus now!

I need the Up3 to come out. I had ordered the Fitbit Charge HR in large and found it to be uncomfortable. Definitely not something I could wear all day let alone at night. So I figured it was due to it being too large for my wrist so I returned it and after a bit of a kerfuffle, Fitbit sent me the small Charge HR. It is just as uncomfortable. It is like it hits my wrist in the wrong places and due to the design, that is where it naturally falls. I had tried the Garmin Vivosmart and thought it was great but I thought the Charge HR was going to be my thing. So now I decide, do I wait for the Up3 or go back to the Vivosmart?

Someone i know is selling an Up 24. I like the Shine- and was going to buy one next time I travel, but i am not sure when that might be. Reading through old posts it sounds like the Up is a bit of a wash, huh?

I wouldn't recommend UP. It has a short life and beyond the warrantee there is no customer service. A device should last longer than a year, and especially longer than a few months. The year is from date of purchase. My third replacemement UP was only a couple of months old when it died. I had 3 under warrantee. Wasn't going to buy a 4th.

I only have high hopes for the Up3 due to the fact that they are using some of the bioimpedence technology. But I also want to see what the reviews will be. I don't have a comment about the Up24 though.

Linanil You want heart rate right? I think the garmin vivosmart is getting really great reviews.

I tried wearing charge hr and agree it's very uncomfortable. I think it's obviously designed for men and I think that's a huge mistake.

Yeah I think I'm going to just go back to the vivosmart. It is sad that Fitbit is geared for men.

So although I'm not going to the gym right now, I'm not using all the features of the Garmin VivoSmart but I like it. There is no HR but it is comfortable. I can use a strap during my workouts if I want but right now my focus is just movement. I need to contact Fitbit and tell them I'm sending me back the Charge HR.

I will actually probably forget about the Up3 but I'm watching the Apple watch as another alternative. Once I get back to moving, I would like to track HR more regularly.

Me! I was trying to decide if it would be creepy for me to go through this thread and just start adding people....
I only have my family so far, and they don't seem to walk so I need some more people for extra motivation.

This forking fitbit. I got the flex for my birthday and the damn thing wants me to be inactive. It's very reluctant to track my active minutes. Several times now I've gone on 30 minute walks - timed and not stopping - and it'll record about 3 active minutes. I don't get it. I think it's tracking the steps (as far as I know) but the active minute bar lags far behind every other bar and it annoys me.
