Does anyone here do this?

I tried a class about a year ago and was turned off by the instructor. It was 45 minutes of non-stop "you got this, you got this, come on, come on, you got this, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh-uh-huh-uh-huh, we got this, we got this, we really, really got this, WHOOOOOOOOOO!!!" screeched over the music.

I loved the workout, though, so I'm telling myself it was just that one instructor and they can't all be like that. I hope I'm right.

I've never done SoulCycle but I do regular spinning all the time. How much I like it depends on the instructor and especially the music. An instructor I really like said that SoulCycle isn't that great and they make it hot in the room so you sweat more and think you're getting an awesome workout but you're really not.

I also really like spinning but haven't tried SoulCycle. Like Dave says, I found my enjoyment of the class was highly correlated with who the instructor was. I wasn't really into the cheerleadery type of classes, but some people really like them.

The spin class I go to was modeled on SoulCycle I think? Loud music, black lights, but its not in a heated room. Its a lot of fun but I concur with others: if I didnt like the instructor I wouldn't go. I say try another class with a different instructor.

Compared to most of the spinning classes I've been to, it was a very light workout. I'm having some psoas issues that are hindering what I can do right now, so it seems like a good fit. If I remember right, we rarely increased the resistance. I loved the darkness and music.

I made a reservation for this afternoon, so we'll see how it goes. To show you where my priorities lie, I'm planning to park in the garage that's next to Pressed so my post-class soft serve juice thingy doesn't have time to start melting before I get to my car.

I came across this article (making the rounds amongst my cyclist friends) about Soulcycle.
