i haven't posted in here for like a billion years, but we bought an elliptical and it's getting delivered today! i'm hoping this means i'll be back into a regular cardio routine in no time flat. *fingers crossed*

Warm up of 12kg long cycle jerks.
Three rounds of a low rep ladder (1-2-3-4-5) of 16kg long cycle jerks.
Three rounds of two minutes of snatches, alternating hands after 5 reps.
Two rounds of one minute overhead holds with 16kg.
24kg farmer holds.

was away from the internet for a while, but a few days ago i hiked up a mountain - 8km long overall, and up 1.5 km in elevation. strange to go from being incredibly hot to the point of taking off your shirt at the bottom, to being frozen and shin deep in snow at the top.

today i walked to derby practice, found out it was cancelled, and walked back... so about 4 km with 30 pounds of stuff. such a letdown :(

our elliptical was delivered on thursday afternoon, and i did 30 minutes on it that day, as well as friday and saturday. woo! i did about 20+ minutes of abs & stretching afterward on each day, too.

i'm thinking about taking today off because i'm sore and overtired. starting fresh tomorrow.

i took sunday off, but then i did 32 minutes on the elliptical on monday, tuesday, and today. i'm feeling pretty proud of myself! we've had an elliptical in the house for 7 days, and i've worked out 6 times. i'm also doing 20+ minutes of abs & stretching each day.

i'm trying to do as much as i can to create a good workout space, to set myself up for success: i bought new hand towels that i keep in a stack nearby, i brought my yoga mat & ashtanga rug home from campus (where i've been taking yoga classes for the past year) so that i have it for floor work, i put a calendar in the room to track my workouts, and i'm putting "work out" on my iCal the day before so i have it there as a legit appointment to plan around.

so far, so good!

I have been terrible about updating my workouts! Swimming, trainer cycling, running! I've been doing it. Last night was 1:15 on the trainer, easy high cadence spin.

Did an awesome workout yesterday:
4 Rounds-
5x
5 pullups, 10 pushups, 15 squats.
Then run 400m
Counts as one round.

Today is running; you have to get all your runs within 10 seconds +/- of eachother to help learn to pace yourself. Burpee penalties for going outside of that time.

I've been super consistent with crossfit, going 4 times a week. this week I made it 5 times.

Yesterday was cleans, clean and press, jerks and snatches. Lifted a cumulative weight of 3.6 tonnes.
I also did some planks on a Swiss ball that felt a bit easy, so tried them on a medicine ball which was harder but not hard enough, so tried the oly rings which has left my pecs hurting!

thank you! i am trying really hard to do a good job and stay consistent. :) my knee was acting a little funny, so yesterday i did less time on the elliptical (and much less resistance) just to be safe, and did some squats to try and build my strength.

today i walked a 5K with my BFF and my greyhound.
